JUST TALK TO HIM. Find out what he likes and start up a conversation. What's his favorite football team? Then the day after a game say man it stinks that X lost or I'm so happy X won that was a tough game. something like that. You'll be fine and he'll be excited to find someone interested in what he is.

Just talk to him and show him that you're interested in him. Be confident when you do it. Talk about things that interest him. Just show him your real personalty. Don't be afraid to be who your are and don't change for anyone.
