It was easier when Compuserve was around. They had these databases where you could download spells people had posted. But I don't keep one anymore. Mine had some poems, databases of magickal plants and stones (which I find now in much more complete and easier to refererence books by Scott Cunningham and Patrica Telsco), every spell I came across (which I write special for every ritual now) and a dream journal (which is always the same dream now).
So I would encourage you to forget the BoS and get lots of books but that's my personal preference.

Hey, I am an eclectic pagan. I have always just put every thing I come across in mine. As it filled up and I needed to reference things I put in dividers.

I write my own spells and rituals and then I put the out come , how I felt about the spell, who if anyone, was in attendance when I cast it etc.
I've got herbs and their magickal properties, various woods, stones, colors, etc.
I also use mine as a sort of magickal journal as well, although many use a different book for that stuff.
There is no cut and dried way to make your BOS. Just do what feels right to you.

Peace and Blessings

PS I reported that jerk John for jumping in with his 2 cents because you specifically asked for people not to do that and he didn't answer your question.

A BOS is basically a spiritual journal. Mine contains everything from bread recipes, to songs and poetry, dream journal, etc. Whatever you find meaningful and helpful is what should be in there.

Hope that helps.

Blessed Be,
Pabs

I was told to put vitrually everything I learn in there. Prayers, chants, spells, recipes, everything.

Please be aware that playing with Wicca, witchcraft, spells, etc...
and playing with occult devices and techniques can open us up to demon possession and demon oppression.

The wise course is to avoid all such devices and techniques.

No offense meant.

Cordially,
John
