Whenever someone criticizes anything about Islam, the backlash is widespread and invariably violent, including mob attacks, burning and other property destruction. Do Muslims not know that the way you live your life is a reflection--at least in great measure--to your religious beliefs? If you really believe in peace, then live peacefully, even if someone criticizes you.

I wonder this myself....If it is a religion based on peace, why don't they renounce these violent people more vocally, and spread peace and love amongst themselves? I'm am personally just sick of the violence that Muslims show, and I would think if there are good Muslims out there, they would be sick of this also! A religion of peace and love?............PROVE IT!

You mean like us good Christians ?

Look, i am a Christan, a former British soldier and a relatively well educated man... and i am telling you that you cannot judge a religion on the actions of either a minority of its followers or the words of a few of its leaders.

We are not exactly whiter then white you know!

Lets see....

there was the pope who looked the other-way in WWII with regards the Holocaust, the pope who sent the kingdoms of europe to slaughter EASTERN CHRISTIANS in the taking of Jerusalem, sacked the Christain City of Constantinople,
and proceaded to rape and plunder the entire levent... or to give it its historic name "Outrema".

We have the fighting in Bosnia, Northen ireland, the thirty years war, the seven years war, the spanish inquisision (not the one with the comfy chair!) and the entire rich tapistry of the early church where anyone could be labled a heritic, witch or satanist at will and burnt!

GOD HELP US! WE HAVE A LOT MORE TO SAY SORRY FOR THEN THE CHILDREN OF THE PROPHET.

WHAT HAVE THEY DONE?

they had the nerve to fight back in the crusades... launched there own little crusade into the south of spain (remember El Cid?) where a number of islamic kings fought on OUR SIDE... and have been trying to find a way to stop a very uncharitable israel from causing $^$^@%^$ havock. In addition they have the litle matter of sunnie vs shite to attend to.

On very careful reflection we are ahead on points in tems of blatent nastyness, but then we have a couple of centurys more history then them.

Ps... Christian, Jew and Muslim are all known as the people of the book... you know the one, i think it says something about:

' let he who is without sin cast the first stone'

anyone care to argue with the word of JESUS our risen saviour?

PPS why is the spell check never working?

Was that a question?

Just like there are a lot of ignorant Christians (its mostly Christians anyway) criticizing Islam for the deeds of some Muslims, there are a lot of ignorant Muslims who have forgotten the sunnah of the prophet (pbuh)

There was a woman who used to always throw trash on the prophet (pbuh). He never spoke ill of her or threatened her. One day, she did not come out to throw her trash on him. He wondered what had happened to her, so he went to check on her, and found that she had fallen ill. He visited her and talked with her and prayed for her, and she realized just how mistaken she had been to attack the prophet in such a way, and converted to Islam after learning more about it.

Ignorance is rampant everywhere. Christians, be like Jesus (pbuh). Muslims, be like Mohammed (pbuh). This would solve ALL of the conflict between Christians and Muslims.

ok lets analyze,

killing poor palestenians for no reason is that right? , killing Afghani civilians is that right? what about the thousands of innocent children and women killed in lebanon was that right ?

Answer : NO!

but that doesnt mean we muslims can go around killing people , but this does mean , your igniting a fire in a firworks factory , this meaningless killings and racism , ignites a wild fire , to such an extent that they cross their limits, and these people are better known as "EXTREMISTS".

Im a muslim , and i dont go around killing people thats ridiculous!
but those who do are extremists , and its not only Islam that has extremists ! , every human has the metnaity and if in the situation can be turned into one.

Its better if the matter is analyzed from the roots , rather than just looking at the surface and making a comment.

I hope this helps :D

Peace

As a Christian, I hope that Muslims don't judge me because of the actions of SOME Christian Americans who raped Iraqi women, or tortured detainees in war prisons.

You get my point? There are horrible things done by extremists in every religion. It's hard not to judge an entire religion when the actions of some believers are so horrible. However, we can't fall into that trap.

Coming to quick, simplistic, hateful conclusions about Muslims invites Muslims to do the same when judging us.

Listen. Just because a few muslims are messed up and hate the U.S, it doent mean that all muslims are. The good peaceful muslims are the ones who follow there religion. The ones that dont are just "fake muslims", who dont know what islam is. And muslims are tired of being discriminated against, just because a few people are evil. Its not like other religions dont have people that make that religion look evil.

just imagine someone u love and respect being drawn and criticised in such a way. how would u react? well i beleive that everything should be forgiven and forgotten. the riots and rallies do nothing for muslims nor would it calm any matters and bring solutions. thus i think we mulims should forgive others and learn to be more patient and enduring. it does hurt but one should endure. that is the way of a beleiver of Allah and that was the way of Muhammed-pbuh. who are we to judge when Allah is a better Judge than us.

btw, the same way as people went berserk for Rossie over her comments on THE VIEW. so what does anyone have to say about that?

may the peace and blessings of Allah be with us and may He guide us in the right path. may He shower His endless mercy on us and protect us from Hellfire.

Evil always wants to be bigger than it is. And it blows itself up
out of proportion. And wants to be the center of attention, and make us think there is only evil, and there is nothing we can do
about it! But evil is not that big.
They say that 500 people were killed in New York City last year
with hand guns. And any loss of life is tragic. But there are
8,000,000 people in New York City! See what I'm saying.
For every person we see commiting a violent act, there are
1000 more at home feeding thier kids.

But you must understand that not all Muslims act this way, just the ones you see on TV. It's the same way Christians-any other religion, actually. The few that act out of hand and seem off their rocker make a bad image for everyone who follows that faith. Christianity doesn't advocate hatred or intolerance or the judging of other people-but some of it's people do. See the difference?

Yeah agree with you.How one reacts to criticism shows the true character of the individual. It in turn boils down to the values inculcated at home, in the society one belongs to, one's religious beliefs - these are what makes an individual.
When muslims resort to violence to make themselves heard shows what the Pope said about them and what the majority of the world thinks of them to be true.
They have a holier than attitude which is so pathetic. I feel they belong to the Stone Age.
