Only if you waste it.

Yes, the choice made by beings to suffer.

Time is merely a phenomenon of observation. It is the illusion created when one dimension moves through the next highest dimension as viewed by an observer in the first dimension. Time is strictly a phenomenon relative to the observer.

What is far more heartbreaking and tragic is that billions of beings choose deliberately to suffer.. they cling tightly to certain ideas, or people, or circumstances, only to be torn by the change that they know is unavoidable. It is not the passage of time which creates suffering.. it is our own choices to attempt to deny the fact that all things change.

We set our hearts on things "having to be a certain way".. and fill ourselves with fear and hurt because nothing lasts forever. We make ourselves miserable by dreading future loss, and thus rob ourselves of the joy we could otherwise be having in the moment. To me, that is truly the tragedy.

Yes, not giving each day and night you best. Today people are in such a rush to make a living no one is enjoying the moment and I choose not to live in fast forward.
Sad is looking for the `right day care`and puttinng your name on the list 2 to 5 years before before you conceive a child because you plan to go right back to work. This is tragic.
Time has it's own frame and a place for everyone. I chose to be in the country and only be in town for errands.
Be your own best friend and live your values.
Time is waiting for you to decide how you will use it for the best.

If there were no God, then the passage of time would indeed be tragic -- because as Atheists, we would have nothing more to look forward to than worms and decay...

However as a Christian, the passage of time, is a positive thing -- as I learn and grow, and my character is developed to be a little closer to that of Christ -- and as everything I do on earth is given meaning and purpose in light of my eternal destiny (to live for ever in the presence of the Christian God, and in community and love with those who have committed their lives to Christ).

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

For scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm

Cordially,
John

The passing of time keeps us from getting too comfortable in life. The changes and challenges of life strengthen our spirits for those who are born again Christians. The gift of time as it is given us day by day, gives the lost who live with out Jesus as their savior, another chance to repent of their sins and turn their lives over to Him and obtain thier salvation throuh accpeting Him as their savior.
The passing of time is actually a gift and a blessing from God that is given to us one day and a time. Praise the Lord.

one observes the passing of time in relation to the situation they find themselves in. when in school as children time seems to drag on and on. when summer vacation is here the time seems to fly. when working the time drags. when a child waiting for Christmas it seems this holiday will never get here. as an adult one wonders where the time went from one Christmas to another. when one reaches retirement one wonders what am I going to do with all this time on my hands ? yet now time goes by quicker than ever as there are so many things to do and still not enough to do everything.

..The passage of time like the passing away of our lovedones..is not heartbreaking but to be neglected is much more tragic.

As one add years to his life ...he is tested and polished with the passing of time...more wiser..more caring..more loving..
