its like the joke how many aggies did it take to screw in a light bulb 3...there is one way to tell the age of a tree,,by the rings in it 1 year per ring.that is what is taught through the state forestry program i knowa i took it.

What, are you gonna saw down a huge redwood just so you can count rings? You gotta leave them things alone--let 'em do their thing. And what are you talking about anyway? Now, wouldn't *anybody* change their mind about how old a tree is in fifty years? I mean, fifty years have passed! It's fifty years older! How could you say it stayed the same age? Every year, it's a year older, so they'd change their minds *fifty* times about the age of a tree. Man, make some sense!
