Let's be real, here, my dear. The attractive people have a better time in life, and in fact, I say that's only fair. [Not that I've ever qualified very well myself, but read on.] In most people, beauty involves healthy and strong, and in all but rather turgid adolescence, some nod toward character and even judgment.
The word is often used superficially, but it survives as a useful word at all levels; beauty is NOT merely skin deep! We have all understood the term, "She has a beautiful soul." Often said of ladies whose exterior would take more kindness than honesty to describe as beautiful. So that wider definition of beauty is something very worth caring about.
And let's face it; you'd rather talk to a pretty sales clerk than a plain one, all other things being equal. In all face-to-face business, it is more pleasant if the face is pleasant. We all doing what we can. Maybe I AM glad I retired this past Wednesday.

because, they are aware of whats known as "beauty"
its a concept, like good evil, honesty, trust, etc etc
as they are aware of it (u seem to be unaware)
they care cuz they know its a good thing to take care of ones hair or beauty
it as if you said why people care about their children?
about their pets?
its the same. they want the best 4 them.
got it yet???
AND because people realize and pay attention to that.

because first impressions are everything and u can tell alot about a person by how they take care of themselves. and when u first meet someone u dont have time to know EVERYTHING about their personality so u have to go off of apperance to see if u want to know anything about this person
yes its judging but thats how ppl are......its normal

because we are all pretty shallow when it comes down to it, people look at you and judge you by the package thats comming towards them. so most care about the image they are presenting. rare few dont...im jealous of those people

Because we wanna look the best we can not like slobs and we wanna look nice and beautiful. ITS CALLED SELF-ESTEEM!
