Non violent criminals- yes. There should be a huge max prison built in Alaska, send theones you are asking about there and if in three years DNA proves them innocent give them a golden hand shake & let em go. Otherwise, if they are in for murder leave em there.

Why do you think that is punishment for a murderer or rapist? You take a sociopath like that and drop him in the middle of a war zone and by all means you are giving him an early Christmas gift. Even if he gets killed, he is going to enjoy whatever time he spends over there.

Why would we put a bunch of dangerous criminals in contact with our soldiers? They have enough hazards in Iraq without looking behind them for American criminals, too.
And the first thing the criminals would do is sell us out for money and drugs, and abuse civilians.
You do not seem to have an ability to think through the consequences of your ideas.
We have had enough of that kind of thinking as it applies to Iraq. Perhaps thinking twice is not the worst thing a leader could do.

Just what we need... more murderers and rapists running around in Iraq. We're having enough trouble with the bad guys on the enemy's side.

I think we already have too many of them in the Army over there. As a veteran I can assure you that the Army already has a small percentage of natural born killers and psychopaths (as well as some of the most decent human beings I ever met). Don't send ice to Alaska.
Besides, criminals make lousy soldiers.

No, setting criminals loose with guns is a bad idea all around. They would just as likely break in the door of some poor working guy and kill or rape his family, as they would kill an insurgent.

Maybe Lifers and murderers, send them to the front line,but
Rapist , a bunch of cowards, they would never survive or would desert their group and rape Innocent women . I thought of this, it would solve the over crowding in the jails...........

There is no quarentee that they are not going to duck and run. People would easily assume they got killed.
