I have not seen these cartoons and don't know what they are about, but I would like to know if the images of Mohamed where replaced with images of the average person in the street, would they still be offensive?

A prophet is not just any person. They are the most special of all mankind. After God they should come first in our hearts. Muhammad(peace be upon him) is the seal of the prophets, he is our prophet so we should love him most. So no if it was just an average person in the pictures we would not be upset.

I have seen these cartoons and I do believe they are offensive - does that mean that Danish people and businesses should have been attacked and destroyed my Muslims - absolutely not. Protests at their embassies would have been fine. The problem with too many in the Muslim community is that they either support these violent protests or don't do anything to stop them. It is really a said state of affairs.

just imagine someone u love and respect being drawn and criticised in such a way. how would u react? well i beleive that everything should be forgiven and forgotten. the riots and rallies do nothing for muslims nor would it calm any matters and bring solutions. thus i think we mulims should forgive others and learn to be more patient and enduring. it does hurt but one should endure. that is the way of a beleiver of Allah and that was the way of Muhammed-pbuh. who are we to judge when Allah is a better Judge than us.

No, they're pretty mild. If it had been Dubya, Tony Blair or just about anyone else they wouldn't have raised an eyebrow.
