There are several reasons I've observed. One thing is that people are brainwashed to believe such stuff and that it is wrong to even question it. I resist brainwashing, so I had doubts about religion at age 7 or 8, and no one can stop me from questioning everything. Not everyone is as intelligent and strong of character as I am, so they blindly accept beliefs thrust upon them in childhood. Another thing is that people often find truths unpleasant or even frightening. They cannot stand the thought of the finality of death, so they want to hear wild tales of eternal life. They cannot really think and see that this Heaven is boring and no one could long endure it. Pathetic ignorance of science and logic makes one able to believe in imaginary deities for which there is no proof at all but much evidence against them. The Bible itself is good evidence against God, for it has errors galore, both glaring contradictions and naive myths that no one literate in science can take seriously.

The universal answer to religieous questions - begin with "I believe" - for example, I believe "god only lives inside their imagination".

Everyone's beliefs are equally valid - only known truth can change that. I belive what I believe, regardless of what anyone else believes. When I die I will or will not know for sure.

Generally religious statement that don't begin "I believe" are mistaking beliefs/facts.

Philosophically a belief in God is pretty sound but then so is atheism-either the atheist or the believer might be deluded, although weak atheism is the default position.

I worship a God who is imaginary, and what is wrong with that? Also he has many Angels and they too are imaginary.

I myself am real; but that does not prevent me, a denizen of the real world, from having relations with the imaginary world, okay?

Why is it so hard for you to accept that others don't agree with you? Think and or believe whatever you want. That is your right. However, give me the same courtesy without being rude.

The Bible says that this same "imaginary God" has placed eternity in our hearts and that he gave His only Son to die for you so that you would know that He is not imaginary.
