You are going to have to file a police report. You can also file an internet crime report here:

I am very sorry this happened to you. PayPal will not be able to help you. They had nothing to do with it. They never took any money from this person. It was a fake email. You should always, ALWAYS check your PayPal account before shipping, especially for an expensive item. If it is not in there, something is wrong. These scammers search & search for people to do this to. Ebay will only close his account. They really can't do anything further. I would contact Live Help on the Ebay.com's home page & tell them the situation & see if they have any other ways to handle situations like this. Good Luck to you!

File a police report. If you shipped out of state, file a report with the FBI. This person has undoubtedly pulled the same scam on other people. This may constitute mail fraud, which is a felony.
But I doubt that you will see your money or the items again.

Did you ship to a street address or a P.O.Box or to general delivery? If a street address, which I doubt, it should not be difficult for the authorities to find this guy.

Olo has given an extremely sturdy answer. And sure do no longer worry you will get your cash back from the monetary business enterprise. i will upload a sprint: you mustn't would desire to cancel your credit taking part in cards as this would have been completed right now whilst your monetary business enterprise issued a clean one and advised you to shrink up your contemporary one. On a separate notice, paypall I even have heard is between the least puzzling codecs for hackers to get your info. attempt to steer away from employing a paypall account. it relatively is fortunate in a fashion you used your mastercard (as you get your cash back). in case you will used a debit card you would be screwed!
