She is most attractive to males after the bleeding stops, and that is also when she will "stand to be mounted" so if you don't want puppies keep her on a leash for daily walks. The vagina will swell in preparation for breeding. Bleeding takes 3-9 days. You don't have to keep her cooped up the entire time. Put on a doggy diaper and give her plenty of walks on a leash. That way, since the diaper is there, if a male does get past you, he can't mount effectively. Unless you intend to breed her though, you should have her spayed as soon as you can.

a female dog is in heat for three weeks. the first and third week the female dog with spot blood. The second week is the week she is breed-able. However the male dog will show interest all three weeks. If you want puppies it is best to keep you male and female separate the first week as he may lose interest when he needs it the most. the reason for this is female dogs in heat are aggressive and will bite the male. The third week is the safest week to let her back with the male, but like human female this is not a true means of birth-control the only sure way is keep them apart.

The first week you can let her out but keep a close eye on her in the 2nd and to be safe the 3rd week keep her indoors or if your yard is fenced and you are sure no other dog and get in. She should be safe 2 -3 days after she stops bleeding. If you are not going be breed with her i would suggest you have her spayed. Good Luck

dogs come into heat twice a year, like people said they bleed first
after they breed have puppies, wait till they come into heat the second time cause the first time after having pups is to close to hard on the female.dont breed one dog to many times cause the dogs will become stupid start having problems with there heath.
they have diapers for dogs if you dont want her to breed so that you dont have to keep her in the house or cooped up

Although your girl won't accept males for the whole 3 week period she's in heat, she needs to be kept away from males the whole time because males are still going to be attracted to her, and if you're not an experienced breeder, you may not know if she'll stand or not until it's too late. Females are all individuals and there's some variance in heat cycles - therefore, 3 weeks is safe.

Her vulva will be swollen, sparkling discharge and blood will pop out of her, she will be in a position to both get more effective clingy or more effective "stand-offish" and male canines will pop out of nowhere at your the front door. you won't be able to educate a spayed canines? I easily have under no circumstances heard that before... are you positive? be positive to save her faraway from all men in the time of her warmth cycle. did you recognize this is risky for a canines to have more effective than 6 warmth cycles and under no circumstances be bred? So i do not see why they don't help you spay your canines... would not make any sence. she will be in a position to bypass into warmth everywhere between 6 months and a three hundred and sixty 5 days and a 1/2. sturdy success

You can take your dog out.. I just wouldn't leave her outside alone. I 've 2 females and 1 male. I take the females out first and then the male.

they can mate at anytime during a season, but are usually more receptive during the second week, it's safer to keep her in untill she has completly finished season.
