I think people who are considered "normal" and smart tend to be blind to new discovery. Albert was considered "weird" out of the norm and look what he did. Albert thought differently than the average person and he was smarter. I don't think he intended his knowledge to go to bad use, but the "smart" people in government did. I have read about many schizophrenic people they have super sensitive feelings, such as elevated sense of smell and can hear things from farther away. Its weird how such "crazy" people can actually be smarter and more perceptive than most.

Einstein did not split the atom - his theories let others to discover how to do that. What made Einstein so smart was the fact that he suffered from a learning disorder - dyslexia and in order to overcome it - it required him to become smarter to do it and made his a brighter guy - at least that is the theory on it.

Well, that's not really what he discovered, but your point is well taken. Einstein was really a pacifist, and I'm sure he wouldn't have approved of the nuclear weapons buildup during the Cold War, nor the actual use of the weapons during WWII.

His e=mc2 didn't split the atom, but his theory led to the splitting of the atom. I doubt he thought of the potential release of energy to be used for military purposes....

When you pick up a hammer, do you think about bashing people's skulls in? A tool is a tool. When you get power out of something, do you think of running machinery or destroying things?
