Felt The Magic..., A TripAdvisor Member, Virginia Beach, VA, May 18, 2006
We had a girls weekend in Baltimore, the weekend of the Miss USA pagent, unbenownst to us. It turned out that we booked this hotel because it was the only one that had rooms. Boy were we more than pleasantly surprised! The decor is gorgeous- if you appreciate bright and modern as we do. The staff always went above and beyond. We flew in early and were able to check in to our room at 9:30 AM! Amazing! We were expecting to have to store our luggage! We had a double queen room. The beds were wonderful! Warning to those staying for more than a day or two...THERE ARE NO DRESSERS. The closet was a bit small, but the room was huge! There was a desk in our room, in between the beds instead of a nightstand. They provide a fridge (not stocked), hairdryer, toiletries are good, and even umbrellas for the days it rains. (And not those chintzy ones either, the large ones with the nice walking handle that hooks over your arm!) The room was impeccably clean. IF YOU NEED TO GET TO SLEEP BEFORE MIDNIGHT ON A WEEKEND, YOU WILL WANT TO STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. The main atrium, which all the rooms front, is also spillover for parties and wedding receptions in the banquet rooms below. The loud music does float up, even though the soundproofing is good. The roof of the atrium is glass, so when it rains hard, they get a few leaks in the lobby. There are three eateries attached, a breakfast/lunch cafe with okay food but wonderful staff, a seafood place which was FABULOUS, and a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. They are currently offering an aquarium VIP package- only pay extra for this if you will be going to the aquarium on the weekend. Without it, you WILL have to stand in line, and will be given a time to COME BACK to get in. The aquarium is VERY popular on weekends! There's virtually no lines on weekdays however, except for holidays. There are several cute and comfy couches in the lobby for meeting and talking with people, as long as there isn't a reception. The hotel is the next pier over from the mammal pavillion of the aquarium, and our room looked right into the dolphin theatre! There were a few glitches, but I honestly was highly impressed by this gem of a hotel. Alot of these large boutique hotels lose their special feel. That was not my experience at Pier 5. I will definately stay there again!

Try Striped Bass on the corner of 15th and Walnut. It's part of the Stephen Starr group of restaurants. It's pricey but definitely worth a taste if you want something a little different from the everyday seafood. Just check out the menu on the website.

Red Lobster on the Boulevard in the NE. EXCELLANT fried seafood sampler. And if you are going to get a cheesesteak, don't go to Jim's. Geno's is where you want to go, just remember "wiz with" and you will be fine, oh and the cheesefries are pretty good there also.

I consider the two final human beings as chef once I wrote menus I had a catalogue of things and had to artwork interior the vendors concepts to in some places, in Seafood eating places it is an argument of like one man or woman mentioned a diner not liking or desiring fish/seafood, I worked in 5 celebrity lodges and extreme end eating places maximum of my profession and we've been given asked why in a Classical French and northern Italian eating room why we did not have spaghetti and meatballs on our menu, why we observed as the garlic bread, crostini du ail. it is to make everyone who are available in experience they have some thing they prefer on the menu, I worked for a french eating place and the previous chef had a pasta dish on the menu that made the french proprietor mad, he mentioned pasta grow to be not french yet Italian and that i mentioned it grow to be one in each of our greatest sellers, he quickly close up.

Dinardo's at 3rd and Race Streets. Delicious Food, Great Atmosphere, and Excellent Service. A little on the expensive side, but worth every dime.

Try moshulu. It's a tall ship docked at Penn's Landing.

The menu is online. It's a fun night and the food good. They serve both seafood and steaks.
