This is a hard question to ask without making a bad impression ... take into account that I live in the Dominican Republic and this is 'normal' here.

How do you guys feel about a 'sugar daddy' situation, meaning having a commited relationship where most of the financial burden is your responsibility?

I've usually heard "Sugar Daddy" to refer a relationship between a younger woman and an older man who takes care of her financially.

In the olden days, a lot of marriages WERE like this. Judging by the dates on the 19th century gravestones in my region and what I've read about the time period, men would go out, make their fortunes, then secure a young bride with whom to raise a family.

I think that would be looked on as a little weird in the modern US, but obviously it happens with fabulously wealthy men.

Personally, I'd prefer a partner close to my own age (maybe a few years younger), but I could see being in a situation where I work full time and she takes care of the kids (maybe working part time). Not because I'm the male, of course, but because my profession pays fairly well. If her job paid better, then I'd certainly be happy to be a stay-at-home daddy. Which is not quite the same as Sugar Daddy. :)

That is normal. The man should be bearing the financial burden in a commited relationship. It's unfortunate that here in the US most women have to help.

Lot's of women are into that. The cool thing about it is that the man knows from the start whats going on. He's aware that the woman needs to be taken care of, so theres not this feeling of him thinking that she's just taking him for a ride. This life is short. Go for it and have some fun.

It's not balanced, but it's common tradition in the majority of the world. Mainly the man makes all the money, and the girl stay home with the kids and the house. Her job is just to take care of children & home. In richer families the house has maids, so the womans job changes to keeping supervision of the house hands. Nothing wrong with it if both partners agree to it.

Its acceptable here in the US but the man has to make pretty good money for the woman to stay home and take care of family. Most people want the finer things in life though and that requires both adults to work. I personaly would love to take care of my woman and spoil here.

If the relationship works for you, go for it.
For the record, I have been searching for a sugar momma for many years and I have had no luck.

If that's all the woman wants me for, forget it. Look at it this way... how would you feel about a man who only wants you for sex? Well, that's how men are about women who only want our money.
