My daughter is progressing very well with her potty training. She can feel the need to urinate, and uses the potty independantly. There is an area that I don't know how to tackle- wiping after urinating. Her being 3, I am now uncomfortable wiping her every time she urinates. I hope that some other parents can help me with this.

You can put the toilet paper in her hand and "guide her" with yours on top. Do this a few times, then ask her to do it by herself "like a big girl".
Remember front to back.
She'll be fine. Good Luck

My husband feels the same way. First of all, she needs to learn this for her, because you don't want her asking teachers and friends' parents to do it. Also, you need to make sure she wipes from front to back, which is a little challenging for small people, but important . Third, she should really be BLOTTING. Wiping can lead to soreness from abrasion, and then you'll really be uncomfortable putting ointment on it!

(When she's not in the potty and you have some time) show her how much paper to use, and have her practice with her panties on. Keep asserting praise and all that big girl stuff, took my girls about a week to mange wiping after both. Occasionally you will have an incident where her panties are still wet, or they're soiled, but just casually mention how important it is to keep clean and dry, and to try to do better.

Well, she should have the hang of it by now, but next time she goes, hand her the paper and tell her to wipe. You will need to remind her to wipe her front first, and remind her to wipe her bottom last. My 4 year old still forgets to wipe all together, but I just remind her and she is fine. If she habitually forgets to wipe, she will get a rash, that really hurts when she pees. When that happens, you can put some baking soda in her bath water, and some hydro cortisone cream on her area. If you are uncomfortable with that, put it on her finger, and tell her to rub it on the sore part. She can get it, but you WILL need to remind often!

Tell her its just like after she goes poopy, she has to clean there too. Just encourage her and remind her to wipe after every time to the bathroom and she will learn to do it without you having to tell her. I say for a single dad you are doing a great job if she is only 2 and is so independantly. Working at a daycare i wish all parents worked with their children like you.

If she dont wipe she can get an yeast infection.

girls need to wipe because we don't have something to shake off. if you are not comfortable wiping her all the time i would give her some tp and say front to back (important for preventing urinary tract infections in girls)as you move your hand from front to back on your clothed self she will get the idea eventually she should be able to handle on her own I know it is awkward doing this but it gets the message across in a visual way so she knows better what to do

you ought to have confidence in her means to shield herself faster or later. it extremely is amazingly undemanding stuff. teach her to wipe from front to back constantly. you do no longer want her donning germs into her vagina. She could merchandise to the flushable wipes because of the fact they experience chilly. There are infant wipe heaters attainable, or you additionally can teach her to ball up the wipe in her fist to heat it first. She may well be greater effective if she stands and bends forward. teach her to proceed wiping until eventually the tissue is sparkling.

I looked after my nephew recently, andfound it awkward constantly wiping his bottom. I showed him how to fold the tissue, and guided him on how to wipe (he's 4, he should be doing it by now right?).

with girls, always wipe front-to-back to stop basteria or infection collecting at the front of her genitalia.

congratulate and praise her when she does it correctly, and demonstrate on a doll perhaps or remind her if she doesnt do it or doesnt do it correctly.

hope this helps.
