i think coconut fat is just called coconut milk now, although my mum tells me it used to be called coconut fat, it can be brought in a solid block that you add water to or in a tin ready mixed it can be purchased from most supermarkets and health shops like Holland and Barret's... hope this answers your question... Where did you get your recipe from?

Coconuts are the seeds of palm trees and the earlier they're picked the more 'milk' (this is a white liguid found in the core of the coconut).. Since there is a great deal of fat in cow or goat's milk, maybe the coconut 'fat' refers to the milk. The white inner layer surrounding the milk is often called the 'flesh'.

Bare in mind, the above are all cooking names and not the scientific ones. Maybe you'll find the answer by researching the agricultural references.

you can get coconut oil but not for cooking, coconut milk for some dishes like curry ,or to drink, but fat,sorry have not heard that one in my 65 years of living.

Try supermarkets..or go to an indian or sri lankan shop , they sell coconut oil.

try a natural foods or health store maybe? you might actually look for coconut oil.

Never heard of it.

The usually forms of it that i find you can buy from shops are:

Fresh (green or brown) - most supermarkets, try asian supermarket for green ones.

Milk (usually in cans) - most supermarkets.

Cream (cans or blocks) - most supermarkets.

Oil (bottles, 2 types cooking and aromatherapy) - cooking better luck at an asain supermarket, aromatherapy try health stores.

Desicated/flakes/dried - supermarkets.

Do you mean creamed coconut? sold in a block, roughly same size as a bock of lard. try Tesco, i know they do it
