or at least some theological scholars have made these claims. considering the bible claims the earth is only 12000 years old these claims concerning ufos dont seem so far fetched .if your religious leaders gave validity to these claims of et's being mention in the bible how would it effect your idea of the universe and your place in it

I don't think there are all that many scholars who take the position you claim, if any. Now, there are some writers out there who write popular books making this claim, but they are not scholars, with training in Biblical studies or theology.

That said, you are right that some people have read certain passages in the Bible, most notably in Ezekiel and the gospel account of the Star at Jesus' birth and a few other places, but when you read in the original language and look at the historical context, I am not sure that I would jump towards ufos in my understanding of what these passages are saying.

However, if there are other kinds of beings out there in other places in the universe, I would say this is something that is a part of the mysterious workings of God. It is entirely possible!

How does it effect my understanding of the universe and my place in it, if this is true that other beings exist? I think it makes it all the more clearer that we human beings do not know everything there is to know and must honor and respect that there is much still to know -- and in this regard, we must walk a little more humbly on this earth, and not be quite so opinionated and rigid, but find a way to engage our world with openness and wonder and tolerance and gratitude for all that we have and all that is yet to be discovered.

would not surprise me. here is a planet where there are no crimes of any type at all. then for some reason something went wrong and a person committed the unthinkable. this person took anther's life. the population didn't know what to do as this situation had never happened before so they decided to banish the person and the entire family forever. they searched all over the universe until they found a planet where the banished people could survive and they brought them here to earth. this totally peaceful planet is where all mankind came from and where we got the idea of The Garden of Eden as a paradise because we remember in our genes where we came from. the only problem is we must defeat our murderous inherited instincts from our ancestors before we can return.

Anybody can claim anything in the name of religion. That doesn't mean a thing.
EVERYTHING a person believes should be backed up with Scripture. Otherwise there is no basis for faith.

My idea of the universe & my place in it is bible-based.
What about yours?

The Bible has dozens of contradictions and scientific and logical inaccuracies, so who cares if it mentions UFO's? That is just one more absurdity in it. I'd hardly call this "well-documented". It's just a matter of interpretation. Bishop James Ussher studied the Bible and found that creation was in 4004 BC. What is the source of your 12,000 years as Earth's age. It is twice as much as Ussher said. Oh well, 6,010 or 12,000 years are far below the truth. When I was age eight, I saw both Ussher's figure and one of 4,700,000,000 years as our planet's age in my dinosaur books. It was obvious, even to a bright 8-year old, that the dinosaur books had much evidence to support their figure, while Ussher had only a book of fantasy behind his. ET's in the Bible affect me not at all, for I'm not a Christian.

Yes, in the Book of Ezekiel. The earth is far older than 12,000 years old----there are large gaps in the genealogy, and we do not know how long Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden. Adam and eve were created as immortal beings. They were not subject to death until they sinned and fell.

Read Ezekiel if you want a biblical description of UFO's. It's probably the strangest book of the bible.
