"Look, the Muslims have a book that says they are the chosen people. That can't be right because we want to be the chosen people."

Muslims do believe that the Bible is the word of God. Try researching Islam a little and you will know this.

Did you know that the Bible is written by many people, books are missing, things have been changed, and there are many versions (like vany versions of Christianity)? You cannot say this about the Qur'an. It has never changed. NEVER. And it is complete. There are translations, but the to get the real meaning of the Qur'an as it was meant when the Prophet Muhammad's words were documented, it should be read in Arabic.

We muslims believe that Torah, Bible and Quran are from the same Source (God). We also believe that the Bible preached in the time of Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) was the Word of God. However we do not believe that the current bible is the Word of God. Why?

First of all, unlike Quran, Bible was writen by people - the authors of the Bible are normal people, on the other hand Quran was dictated by God, every word of Quran was personally told by God and sent to prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) through Angel Gebrail. And only then companions of prophet Muhammad (pbuh) wrote it down.

As for Bible it was written by the followers of Jesus (pbuh) after Jesus had long died (we Muslims believe he didn't die but was raised to Heavens and will come back near the end of times - the Second Coming). They simply wrote what they liked, you can find all sorts of shameful stories in it. Therefore even Christians are hesitant to let their children read these stories. And this kind of writings has corrupted the original meaning of the Bible. It also has some 50,000 errors in it (see the reference link).

That's why we do not believe current Bible is not a Word of God but a man's.

Becouse muslims think that Americans wrote the Holy Bible, and that the Bible represents western belief. But one thing is for sure, the Holy Quoran teaches the Muslems about Jesus, but they will never accept it, becouse doing so implies that they believe Christianity is the true religion odened by the almighty God through his only son Jesus the Christ.

We never said the Bible is not the word of God. Part of being a Muslim is believing in the books He as sent. But the books He has sent were distorted. He left them in the hands of man to protect and they distorted them for their own gain. So He sent a final book, the Quran. This book clears up everything that was distorted and gives the final law till the end of time. But this time He promised to protect this book and not leave it in the hands of man to once again distort.

Not Muslim, but how arrogant you must be to think that your way of faith is the one and only. I was brought up Southern Baptist and got away from organized religion because of thoughts like this. Every religion has it's own set of beliefs and tools. And why would you only direct this question to the Muslim faith? Do us all a favor, get over yourself.

Get your Facts straight Faiz, the Bible was in use before 3AD (that's a long time before Muhammad was around) and was "standardized" in 3 AD by Constantine.

And didn't Muhammad actually write down his visions himself immediately after they happened? Is the Koran mostly his personal documentation or are you saying it was SECOND HAND!

I thought he wrote it like a journal documenting what he experienced!
