Yes, we Muslims need a single authority. Unfortunately there is none at the moment.

Thanks for your serious question. In Islam there is no concept of spiritual leader. Basically this is to avoid him turning himself into a God as it happened in christianity in the past. But the idea resolving the issue through peaceful dialoge is so correct. I believe that what should had been done. I respected the previous pope for his strong support for dialogue with Islam, unfortunately, this pope does not support dialoge like the previous one. I hope he will change after this accedent.

WE Muslims have only one spiritual leader and that is Prophet Muhammad (May peace be upon him). He has shown us the right path and given every detail as to how to spend ur life in this world. His teachings are still valid for any sort of debate. People just need to understand them. If the pope is interested in any sort of contact from the Muslim leader, ask him to read The Teachings of the Prophet, But they must be read with an open mind removing any mindsets

In Islam, there is no religious leader. We're supposed to worship God independently. But I agree with you that we should have dialogues.

ever think that the practice of a religion doesn't imply the need for a "leader"? ever think that someone can independently practice a religion for their own personal spirtual faith and not neet some demigod icon to idolize and take their guidance from?

yeah, they worship "Allah" but when one of their religious leaders calls for the assassination of someone for criticising Islam, it's called a FATWA that Muslims are compelled to accept or face apostacy charges
