Junior & Senior and they aren't something you have to study for....if you don't know the stuff on there by your junior or senior year, you're not going to know it. Good luck! I don't even remember what I got on mine and my college didn't care!

It is recommended to start taking them in the junior year and also take it once or twice in the senior year. You can take it as many times as you want, but the highest score counts with most colleges and universities. On regards to preparing for the SAT, it is never too early to start preparing for it. An idea is to devote some time each day to prepare for it. 15 or 30 minutes should be fine in the beginning, but you should add more study time for it when your test date approaches.

take it at the end of your junior year to get a feel for the test. If you are not happy with your scores, take it again at the beginning of your senior year. College applications start going out in the Fall of you Senior year and they will need your scores.

Junior year or early senior year. Take PSAT in your sophomore year and an SAT early in the junior year and again in your late junior year. Then take one your senior year if you still need to bring up your score.
