I came across this quote not long ago that helped me to put life into perspective and I hope it helps others too!
"As I grow to understand life less and less, I learn to love it more and more."
To me it it if a very reassuring thought that you can give yourself permission not to know everything yet there is so much in life yet to learn! How exciting is that? You may live to be a thousand and only learn an infinitesimal portion of all there is to know. Be a sponge, soak up life and all it has to offer and you will never be bored!

"Nothing so concentrates the mind as a good hanging." Samuel Johnson.
Perhaps the greatest thinker of all time, Johnson, who mentored James Bosworth (another great thinker and greater womanizer - he was the Brad Pitt of his day - 18th Century), the above quote succinctly expresses the importance of concentration on the tast at hand to be successful.

This is an old German saying that my Grandpa taught me.

"We get too soon old and too late smart." Author unknown (unless it was my Grandpa??)

It means that when we are young we are foolish and THINK we know everything. The young don't take advice well and seem to prefer to 'bump their own heads' as they go through life. Then when we get older ( 50 and up) we start to really figure things out...'see the light' and then "Poof" it's all over.

He also use to say " Youth is wasted on the young." That one can only make sense when you are old....even if I tried to explain it... you would argue.

At Least, Do No Harm.

Universally, it is the only religion we need to know- do no harm to anyone or anything.

Many will immediately say this is idealistic, however don't confuse something with idealism because it is difficult to do and requires a great and deep struggle within oneself to achieve/realize it.

This is why it is a worthy aspiration.

It is a religious quote. I have always loved it, for some reason it just made sense to me and meant something special.

"Let Go and Let God"

When times are tough (as we know too well) we tend to stress out and mess up even more. This is telling us to just stop. Stop thinking. Stop worrying. And let God take over. He will take care of you, and He knows what to do and what is best.

I love it.

i have two fav quotes:

- A candle loses nothing of its light by lighting another.
- God promises a safe landing, but not a calm passage.

- A candle loses nothing of its light by lighting another.
This i like coz there are so many people around us whom we know so well, whom we interact with.. but i have noticed that each of us.. every single person including ourselves have this greed in us, we are so selfish.. we always think twice to help the other person.. little do we realise that by helping someone in their need we dont lose anything.. instead we gain the love and blessings of the other person..
this quote reminds me that im not a lone person.. i need to love and share my life with the others too.. i wont lose anything of myself by helping the other....

- God promises a safe landing but not a calm passage.
This is something which i love a lot coz it gives me the assurance that God is with me in all my endeavors and will support me in everything i do.. he assures me that my life is safe in his hands and will always hold me.. and when i face problems and troubles i know its Gods wish that i face all that and so i move on.. God gives me the guarantee that He will protect me in all my troubles and give me a safe landing even though reaching to him is a difficult path of pain and worry.
