Arab Muslims are angry because they were at the dawn of civilization. They are possibly the oldest civilization known to exist. Yet, every other culture in the world has surpassed them. They are generations behind most of the world in development of basic infrastructure, medicine, science, technology, economy, etc..etc..etc.. They blame the rest of the world for being successful... instead of blaming themselves for not keeping up. They would rather follow some racist bigot into poverty than to think for themselves and prosper. If they continue to bicker among themselves and blame others for their plight and follow mis-guided leaders they are doomed to stay in poverty, misery and hatred. And as for the other Muslims like those converted ones here in the US ... the scenario is a little different but the same self denial will always keep these people in the blame mode. And BTW not alll Muslims fall into the angry category... my answer only decribes why those who are angry ... are angry. I beleive most of the worlds Muslims are peaceful, kind, caring, thoughtful and honorable people.

I just turned on CNN, and saw so much going on. The Palestians are having disagreements within their own government, Muslims are all in the streets protesting in Indonesia this weekend, over what the Pope said. By the way, my son is there this weekend, and he's half American/half Algerian. He looks American though, I hope he's safe. I do think what the Pope said about someone in the 14th century was taken out of context, so it looks bad, but he should not apologize because radicals asking him to do so.
I have known many Muslims, I used to be married to one for many years and I've spent 6 months in North Africa back in the 80's and 90's. My ex's family are Muslims and they are wonderful people and most are peaceful, hardworking, normal people. The problem is, radical fundamentalism is growing all over the world. Our current president always trys to talk about all the "evil, etc., trying to scare us more, and this just makes the world more dangerous and these groups will grow. They brainwash poor young men, that have nothing to look forward to, in countries that are poor, or occupied, and don't have any rights, no futures to look forward to. I hope we don't have a holy war on our own soil, but who knows, certain groups think it's okay to kill, mame, and murder in the name of God/Ala. I always thought it was a sin to kill in all religions. I wish for peace, I wish we were out of Iraq, I wish the Palestians were not occupied, I wish alot of things. We need to deal with the problems that have been brewing for years, but am scared for the future of our people and the worldl. Too many people are dying and will die for the sake of religion, terrorities, greed and power & oil. Any comments to my thoughts, I welcome. Freedom of speech!

In all reality, it is not one particular religion that has exhibited sociopathic qualities, that has brainwashed parishoners, that has placed a very black mark on humankind. The problem lies with the fanatics within these groups, that and those individuals who can't seem to form a solitary thought on their own and live their lives, continuing to allow religious zealots to think for them.

I grew up in a very traditional Christian family, and I tell you what, some of them seem every bit as dangerous as fanatics of Muslim beliefs. Christianity tries very hard to come across as that blessed members only club ordained by God (their opinion of what or who God is). But it is a crock, through and through.

All of the major faiths claim to have the blessing of God, as well as strict instruction to 'spread' their faith. I will say it as plain as possible...any religion, faith, creed, club, coalition, entity or whatever that encourages its devotees to wreak havoc on those of differing opinions, cultures, and faiths is not any type of ideal, dogma, or path that people should follow under any circumstance.

So, so many Christians sit comfy, smugly announcing that their God is a God of mercy, faith, hope and most importantly...LOVE. Yet these same individuals consistently debase gays and lesbians saying that God hates them and will throw them in the pit of hell with Satan. HUmmm, sounds to me like some Christians ought to read their precious little book a lot better than they have been.

In the New Testament in Corinthians it is clearly stated, "Love is patient, kind, everlasting, never boasting..." yada-yada most of us have all heard this at some point in our lives. It also says in the New Testament in the book of John that God is love. Following this logic, if God is love and love is patient, kind, everlasting, non-discriminate and all that other stuff, it then follows out of necessity that God is also every bit of these same qualities.

How is it then, if God is all these great, grand, and glorious things, how is it then that he would hate gays or lesbians? How is it that he would burn anyone in any type of hell? Christians cannot have it both ways, and neither can Muslims or any other suffocating religion out there/

The religious nuts of every faith take great license in procuring and repeating only those scriptures that benefit whatever message it is that they are trying to spread.

And another thing...Christianity is supposedly based on faith, right? Does it not say in the book of Romans, "For whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved....for it is with his mouth man confesses his sin and with his heart believes unto salvation," .

Now doesn't that sound so beautiful? Believe and you too shall be saved. Saved from what? Saved from the egregious nature of human beings? It is typical of many religions to pass the buck of their troubles onto that legendary being Satan. Satan is blamed for everything mean, cruel, hateful and far worse that is under the sun. Why does religion blame Satan? Isn't it human beings that behave in such manners? What a cop-out to claim bologna like 'the Devil made me do it'.

The Devil didn't do squat. People make their own damn cruel, terrible decisions all by themselves. The problem is none of them wish to claim responsibility for anything remotely negative, but when something defined as 'good' happens the religious ju-ju-bee fanatics immediately credit their God as having answered prayers, of having the most power, of being the most legitimate.

To my understanding, and believe me most of the time my understanding is wayyyy off, Muslims worship the same God. I am not talking about Jesus, I am talking about Allah, God. Then it would stand to reason that if Allah is God the he (Allah) would also have the very same attributes as love.

Interesting. I have never known love, true heartfelt concern, and compassion and love to instruct individals to hijack airliners and then plough them into high rise towers just because they believe that those people in the nation being terrorized are infidels. If God is love, and if Allah is God, then Allah will not purposely will, in any manner,in any form or shape, he would not will or instruct, demand, cajole, or harass anyone to incite humanity to the brink of total annihilation.

American Christians in particular have a very odd habit of neglecting, blatantly so, those individuals of different faith. To add to this obtuse manner of thinking many Christinas readily claim that a very large percentage of practicing Muslims are haters, terrorists because they practice a violent faith.

If the Christians would stop and take a good long look at humanity before they went shooting off at the mouth about the incredibility of all other religions, they would very quickly find that they themselves are also violent in nature and most certainly have no room to talk.

Those that fight over religion are not interested in the improvement of anyone much less improvement within themselves.

Finally, Christians really need to open their eyes to many of the inconsistencies within their religious text. The bible says that it is 'faith' that saves the individual from sure torture from the Devil for an eternity. How can this possibly be when the main focus of Christianity is to scare people into believing, preaching hell-fire and damnation to anyone who turns up a nose in the face of eternity.

Now THAT is something that makes ZERO sense. Faith is a willing need within the believer to take what is being presented at far more than just face value. Faith DOES NOT include fear in it's personality traits. Faith is simply what it is.

Unfortunately, institutionalized religions scare the crap out of people searching for meaning in their lives. Those seeking faith are repeatedly informed that if they do not believe they will most certainly die and go to hell unless their hearts are filled with Jesus.

Hummm...believe, or else. People don't want to go to hell or suffer the wrath of God, so in order to save their own asses they jump on the holy-roller platform to cover their sinful tracks. People are scared into 'believing' in Heaven and Hell.

Simply put, that is not faith...fear does not help the individual to see or experience God. Institutionalized religion cannot be touted as a valid faith due to the fact that when one boils down all the information offered believers were scared into accepting.

Institutionalized religion is a farse, it's main objectives to suck in converts and then brainwash them into thinking that they are better than everyone else. Muslims angry all the time? Christians angry all the time? They wouldn't know their tush if it were a hole in the ground and they stepped into it. Afterall, they , Christians and muslims, have been rivals for centuries and centries, fighting and arguing and maiming each other in the name of their respective faiths. And how long ago was that? Eons? Neither religious sect can claim the other is more angry and dangerous, as both are almost irrevocably angry. And who really and truly knows what actually started it all?

Institutionalized religion is cancer, pure and simple, on the human race.
