I have a problem seeing the benefit of illegals and legals alike. I am not being racist...I am being practicle. The following explains why I do not agree with illegal immigration, however, legals do not seem to have a defnese either. They can come here and start collecting social security and welfare almost instantaniously. I'm lucky if I will be able to get social security when I am old and grey!Their properties seem to be no cleaner than illegals....they are still in the news papers for murders, drugs and welfare fraud on a regular basis. So what is the difference? If any one else has some statistical information regarding how much money legal immigrants suck up...please let me know.

LOL I am as far from racist as could be. Is anyone reading the facts? It doesnt matter to me that they are PR'ican or Mexican or whatever...look at what they are doing to society! I fail to see the benefit. That is not racism!

I agree. For the people who say "Legals welcome, Illegals not" Do you know what you're even saying? Do you know if they are of legal status when you're judging them as they pack 5 families into a single family home? You can't tell the diff between a legal and illegal unless you ask them to see their green card.

Well, the difference between legals and illegals is the difference between a guest and a thief. We invited the first set under our laws. If we don't think they make a good impact it is up to us to change our laws, but we can hardly blame them for coming.
In fact the economic picture from LEGAL benefits is positive, due to the fact that our laws are slanted to let in mostly those who have funds or the ability to contribute. Some poor, more likely to be a burden on society, are let in, but the number is limited, and other legal immigrants make the group a net positive.
On the other hand the vast majority of those who come illegally end up costing more than they pay in taxes, so they as a group degrade education and health care. The social security problem is that while SOME illegals pay into the social security account and can't claim it back (unless the Senate Bill which would give them SS benefits is passed) that number is far less than the number localities spend on education and services for illegal immigrants, to begin with. Also, if illegals are made citizens they would all be able to bring in indigent parents. That completely turns inside out the idea that their work would shore up our failing Social Security fund.
I'm fine with legal immigrants under our current laws, but not under the proposed Senate Bill which would flood our country with cheap labor in the form of the kind of immigrants that drain education and health care funds. Making it 'legal' by opening our borders ignores the reasons that have always existed for limiting immigration by poor people, to begin with.

This problem is going to build up and explode if let go.........they come here and feel justified because hundreds of years ago their ancestors lost land to the USA.They come here with a chip on their shoulders and with utter disrespect of laws and culture of the USA. We as Americans have it pretty good, we had a good economy and could live better than most in the world, most don't have to worry about starving like the third world country's do. now if Mexico had it good and we were ******* it up would they be so understanding?.......**** no they wouldn't....It's going to get to the point of war before long and that is a scary thought.

I do know that Legal immigrants must follow a screening process, pay a whole lot to finally be an American and can not ask for public assistance while trying to obtain citizenship. It has taken some at least 10yrs to do this, and the difference is they do follow the law.
If Illegal Aliens get automatic amnesty, they will pay less in fines then those who did it legally and followed our laws.. I will find you some stats on legal immigration. I am sure you will be around...:)

I mean to be honest. Your wrong. I didn't read the statistics because I didn't see a source.
Secondly, immigrants, legal and illegal alike, are not all low-lifes, like you seem to have put it. My parents are both immigrants (legal) and we don't "suck up" money from the government. To be honest, I bet they make a lot more money than you do. I live in a penthouse apartment. We don't do drugs or are on welfare or cause any violence.
