It is the most natural source of feeding our babies. In the world we live now, we need something as natural as breastfeeding.I think it's beautiful and I don't find it offensive at all. The baby has to eat. What do you think?

I really don't know why it would offend anyone. The breasts are there to provide nourishment for a baby. Nursing moms and their babies form a stronger bond and nurturing than bottle-fed babies. A nursing mom can cover herself while the baby is nursing if she is in public. I applaud all nursing mothers out there for doing the right thing for your babies.

I do agree that it is a natural function, and as such, I find no offense in it, but I also believe that it can be done in a discrete manner when one is in a public place. It is easy enough to slip a receiving blanket or a cloth diaper over the area. It's light enough to allow the baby to breathe, but it also offers a bit of privacy. There is definitely a difference between breast-feeding in public and exhibitionism, and I have definitely seen many mothers who lean toward the latter.

I breastfed my son for almost a year and I refused to use a breast pump - for it was pathetically painful - so I often fed in public and did it discreetly - never had a problem. I must admit though, my son was more relaxed and ate more when we were in private.

I think any mother should respect those around her - for not all are comfortable with breastfeeding in public - but hey.. the baby has to eat - just do it with respect for yourself and the baby.

Society (okay, Western society) seems to firmly believe that breasts are for nothing more than sex. Yes, breasts can be sexual, but their PRIMARY function is to feed a baby. Breastfeeding in public is perfectly fine. But so many people see breasts as only sexual that it's considered embarrassing to have breasts be used for their intended purpose. In some societies.

I have absolutely no issue with breast feeding in public, as long as some level of decorum is kept. Lets not walk around whipping our our boobies, get a blanket and be aware of others around us. By the way I breastfed both of my children. I am PRO-breastfeeding. It is natural and God given, and nothing wrong with it.

It all depends on where. If I'm trying to eat it really pisses me off. She wouldn't like it if five years down the road I flashed her and her kid would she? And don't even try that well its my right to feed my brat because it's my right to have a meal in peace without looking at some nasty peep show. Can you tell it has really happened to me? You can do it discretely without making a big deal. But not around food. thats WRONG

Lots of natural functions are done discreetly, think gas here. Forty years ago I breastfed and no one noticed, so I know it can be done. I think men just want to think of breasts as "their" turn-on and, like kindergarteners, they don't want to share.
If I can live with guys with their jeans down around their hips(how do they stay up?) and an epidemic of Plumbers Crack, I think men can deal with an occaisional glimpse of milky breast.

It's the most natural thing that people cannot expect it to be natural. I feel sorry about it too.
I think, first of all, thee feeder must feel as natural herself first. because this way, the feeder won't feel bad herself.
Who cares what other narrow minded people think?

There is a way to do it discretely. Also I think it depends on the age of they baby. if the kid can walk please stop breast feeding.

They should at least have a blanket to cover up..... the last thing I want to see in a food court is some non-caucasion from a third world flining their mamories out of their halter to feed their kid. It happens, but I just don't want to have to see it..... and I did see this once. Gross!
