Such as if you do not believe in the FSM would it really be considered a choice as to rub tomato sauce on his noodly appendage or not. To you it does not exist. There is no choice there. It is a negative.
So when people tell me I choose to go to hell, I can not help but think no I did not. I do not believe in God. I do not believe in Heaven. I do not believe in Hell. There was no choice. I can not force myself to experience the same faith you do. What I am saying is not a lie. If you say it is a lie then you are being the liar. No one can force themselves into having faith in something, therefore it is not a choice of me wanting to go to heaven or hell
You can say it is a choice for me to believe in god all you want but I **know** it is not. I can not believe in the same things you do. You can not force yourself into being something you are not. PERIOD.
So the choice never really was mine. Sorry..

It is sad that you all actually believe I have a choice. I really do not believe in the same stuff you all do so you do not understand my concept of reality.
Lets take an example:
I have a spaceship in my back yard. It is your choice, do you want to fly to Venus in .1 seconds or do you not want to fly to Venus in .1 seconds. If you are rational you will realize that such a ship does not exist. There is no choice. Would you honestly say, no I do not wish to fly in your ship? That would mean you believe there is a ship. Or would you say there is no ship. You can not make a choice when something does not exist to you. If you step in front of a moving truck that you did not see, was it your choice to be hit by that truck? It was your choice to walk but not to be struck by the truck.

If you 100% believe there's no choice in the first place.....then there is no choice. Simple as that. This answer applies to any 1st person POV belief as well.

You have posted an interesting question. The question itself is not so interesting, what is different is the way you have articulated it.
First off, if you don't believe in hell you obviously have not chosen to go there. Many say that they believe in God but disbelieve in the existence of hell. This is because they choose only to believe in a loving and forgiving God and overlook the Just God. That does not mean that there is no hell, nor a God who sits in judgment over His Creation.
All those whom I have met who adamantly profess to be atheists were arrogant individuals who believed themselves too smart and too sophisticated to believe in God. I say this because even science agrees that there is evidence that Man may be wired to believe in God. I say that we are at leasted wired to wonder about God.
Man is the only creature on this Earth capable of raising his eyes to the Heavens and asking himself, "Where did I come from? Is there a God? Did He create me?" Angels and demons don't wonder about this; they walked with God and KNOW He exists.
And you say you never wondered about God and concluded that He doesn't exist? Therein is the choice, to believe or to NOT believe. So perhaps you have chosen not to believe and don't even realized it.
If you have read this far, let me leave you with this final suggestion:
See the swirls of your fingerprints. Pretty unique, huh? Do you honestly believe that we were born with these unique markings by chance, or did God sign us with these?
I believe in intelligent design. The Author of that design I call "my Lord and my God."
Good luck.

Did you proof your belief that there is no God, Hell or Heaven? You cannot simply say I don't believe and be not responsible for your action. God has given each person intellect (unless insane) and He expects you to use your intellect to find Him.
For example there are tons of proofs of God's existence in Quran and Hadith. Have you studied them? If your answer is no, then how can you say you cannot share my faith? Because you didn't even try to understand it. So I think you are just trying to justify your position.

Anyone who says that you have no choice about the big things in life other than the choices that they themselves have made is a person who has more invested in his/her being right and everyone else being wrong than in listening, tolerating, giving, waiting, and doing good by stealth.
The only true way to come to believe in another person's 'God' is through wanting to be like the person their belief has led them to become. So I do not want to believe in George Bush's God, nor in the God whom so many public figures quote as their motivation. If there is a God, he does not compel - he appeals through example.

He is the God of ALL creation, he is not a seperate God for a certain group. So, please do not use the pronoun "your".
The thing is you really do want to believe, because the alternative is just too ridiculous, self serving, and vain to believe.
I mean c'mon that's it huh ? We are highly evolved animals...Just look around. All this was an accident? Happened by random chance? Look into the eyes of your child, or niece or nephew....They are doomed to live only this existence, make it the best way they know how...then juts die ? That would really SUCK!!!!

yes you have a choice because of free will. you have all kinds of choices each and every day and not necessarily regarding any particular Belief System. you are here on this plane of existence for some purpose which you may not know. when your purpose is through here you will go to another plane of existence to repeat the process over again.

Flying Spaghetti Monster?
I agree that you cannot force someone to believe something they do not. And yes, we cannot really know about the concept of Heaven and Hell. And I do agree with you that it is upsetting to have people try to force their religious beliefs on you and threaten you with hell if you do not accept their beliefs.

Belief is a choice, like it or not. The truth isn't always warm & fuzzy.

Faith comes by hearing the word of God
You have a choice in whether you "choose" to hear the word or not. You can never tell God "Well I never had a chance". There are Bibles every where. Will you "choose" to read it?
