No you should not buy a gun to protect yourself from your girlfriend. Yes if you want to take karate classes for you because you like to, or want to advance your ability in something yes! but, again not to protect yourself from your girlfriend any relationship that is abusive is wrong. It will only escalate,Until she possibly really hurts you I co mend you for not hurting her back. You must of been raised right. You need to break off this relationship w/ her if this is an on going problem. Run away while you still can before she breaks your legs or your spirit

I agree with those who say to leave her. Even if it is in a playful manner (which it may be to her...i don't know, I wasn't there) I would talk to her about it. If it persists leave. The people saying tings like "grow some balls" are morally wrong to say such things. This kind of abuse happens often in society today and few steps are taken by either people in the relationship to prevent it. Whatever you end up doing, DO NOT get a gun because that is just ridiculous and if you want self-defense classes, its always good to be prepared. Maybe it will help in the future too.

Men calling the police for physical abuse from their wife/gf is one of the most under-reported crimes in the United States. Less than one percent of female-to-male violence is reported to police. I can speak from personal experience that you should report it immediately if it happens again. DO NOT forewarn your girlfriend that you are going to do this. And DO NOT buy a gun!!! You will be made out to be the bad person if you do. If you call the police, and nothing happens, contact a lawyer to get a no-contact order. This is very inexpensive, and will separate you from your attacker. Check your state's laws regarding the length of time that the no-contact (protective) order will remain in effect. Good luck.

*snickers* No offense, but get some balls. If she is aggressive and an attention-seeker, do you really want to stick with her? She sounds pathetic for seeking attention from you in a rough manner and you are even more so for not standing up to her. What are you afraid of?
NO u should not buy a gun you moron.
If you are really insecure about your strength, then yes, by all means, get some karate lessons or better yet, go to the gym and build up like a man. Or next she'll have you in a cooking apron and washing gloves whilst she wears the pants *snickers*

Hey friend I hate to say this but. the other people answering your questions are right (not all of course). You need to grow up and grow a pair. we live in a free society and basically we don't need to take crap from nobody. men and women alike. I was in an abusive relationship but only for 3 months. I chose to walk away and tell her like it is. My friend there are more women out there for you to conquer and you are wasting your time with her. dump her get a restraining order, I hate violence but even as a female you have the right to defend yourself. Dude once again don't waste your time, WAKE UP. don't let anyone ruin or run your life. Be careful and good luck.

You should never hit each other even in play. If you do it routinely then it will be done at more serious moments. Tell her that if she does it again you will want to end the relationship. It may be too late for her to change if she has been doing this for a lengthy period of time. It will be hard to start over but for your safety that may be the only choice you have.

Maybe you should start going to the gym and strengthen those muscles. At least then you may have a chance of controlling the situation. In the meantime, you could always buy her a box of chocolates and some flowers to show her that she is someone special to you.

I honestly can't believe all these morons who are taking you seriously. I've read some of your other Q&As and see that you are just trying to stir things up a bit. You would almost be funny if you weren't so pathetically twisted.
