ok first he should be able to return to school now they told me once you start the medicine give them a day of rest and then they should be fine. For how long the rash takes to go away is it is different for everyone you could give him a oatmeal bath and that would help with the redness. For the his head still hurting I suggest you take a cool cloth not cold and place it on the back of his neck this will cool his body down and relax some of the tension in his head. I know how you feel I have two daughters and of course they caught it at the same time. Just remember the most important thing is for them to relax drink lots of cool liquids and know that you are doing your best. Extra attention from you always makes them feel better no matter what the age just ask my husband.

When I had scarlet fever, it was with strep throat and when I took the antibiotics, I felt better in a few days and went back to school. No fever, no rash, no sore throat. If your son has scarlet fever, it's a pretty virulent strain. You're gonna have to take him back. Either he hasn't had enough antibiotics, or he hasn't had the right antibiotics, or it's not scarlet fever and you're treating the wrong thing. Antibiotics work pretty quickly so long as it's a disease that responds to them. Two days is plenty long enough for an IV antibiotic to help him. Take him back! Scarlet fever can cause heart damage and blindness. Whatever he got isn't helping him.

Scarlett Fever isn't cured by one shot at the ER. Your son is still very sick and, if you don't care enough about him to get a series of meds that he can handle, even injections, have the decency to keep him away from other children so they don't get sick. Did you tell his pediatrician that the meds wouldn't stay down? Doesn't he have another way to treat your son? If not, find a pediatrician that does. Your son could be suffering brain damage with a high fever for so long.

NO responsible mother would seek medical advice on yahoo answers. Take your son to a doctor or the emergency room.
What are you thinking ?
