To be considered a truly good person in the eyes of others, is the path you take to get there (different religons etc.) or the teachings you live by (thoses of others/or yourself) more important?

The choice is yours. It really is no ones business what path you take or teachings you follow. As long as you feel in your heart the path or teachings that you are using in your daily life feel right. Each of us are created as individuals. So what feels right for one, might not feel right to another. I have several friends who are involved in different religions. I myself am a Spiritual Teacher. We all feel that we are on the right path and follow the correct teachings. Each of us are good people, we all have values and morals. We respect each others beliefs, and we each feel we are right. It is what you feel comfortable with.
Find a path and or teachings that feels right to you. It doesn't matter what others think of you as long as you know what is right in your heart.
Good Luck and God bless and be will you on your journey.

hey dragon

firstly what's the point of doing something just to impress others than to be sure of what you're doing yourself is truly righteous?

the path, ways, directions, teachings or religion or whatever one would label are just ideas/points of views that compiles into a book, encylopedia which are taken as references to lead one's life and practises to become a custom/tradition by a group of people.

for example in our daily life these days at home or workplaces
people are so concern about safety such that we are so accustomed to such safe practises and has since become a tradition or may i say a religion

so if you're doing something to impress others
forget it you're just a fake and a man without concrete principles
so can never get anywhere near there even though one knew of his responsibilities of his actions is solely between him and his creator when he dies

The only one that I am concerned with as to viewing me as a 'truly good person' is God. Everyone else can go jump in a lake.
If you think that I don't really care what others think of me, you would be correct.
