if you are talking about a flat iron...i use loreal hot straight balm. it comes in a pink bottle and it really smells good. protects your hair from heat....

You did not say how you were going to straighten it. Are you using heat, or chemicals? In any case, there are products that will claim to protect hair, but if you are using heat the protection is only temporary. Heat (curling iron/flat iron) will damage hair, especially if you use it every day. If you have color in your hair, this also adds to the problem. Try to use a good shampoo and conditioner. Also, check out the website of Paula Begoun. She has detailed reviews of products.

There is a Frizz Ease straightening spray. It can help protect it, just make sure that your hair is getting enough moisture because straightening it does dry it out. Also, be careful what kind of straightener you use. The ceramic or teflon ones are pretty good and don't fall for the one's that claim to dry and straighten your hair. That is basically damage city.

I don't know about sprays, but there are some shampoos and conditioners on the market that are made to protect the hair from overdrying and splitting when heat is put in it. One of the names of these products is Thermasilk, I think.
