My cat does that too, even when there's fresh water out for him. I've learned to shut the toilet seat and remind everyone else to do so also. I don't want to think about what germs are in there (even when it's clean. icky!!!) that he gets in his body and in his mouth. the same mouth he decides to groom me with.

do you have a dog? if you do, maybe he's trying to be like him, because hes jealous. but that is normal. i once had a cat that did that. if you don't want him to, have the toilet seat closed at all time, so that he will see that there is no Way he could drink from the toilet

Yup. If somebody didnt put the seat down, my cat Duke would go in and start drinking out of it. Ewwwy. lol. So we had to make sure the seat was down. I had/have cats that will drink water out of a cup in the sink. Sweetie likes to go into the shower/tub after someone has been in there and roll around and wash up a bit.

The water in the toilet is cooler. Try dropping a couple of ice cubes in a clean fresh bowl beside his usual bowl.See which he prefers. And close the lid to the toilet.

Cats do not like the smell of dish detergent like you cannot believe. If you wash out the bowl using detergent it is likely he can smell it. This is why cats will shun a clean water bowl and seem to prefer drinking out of mud puddles and toilets. Try rinsing the bowl out better or do not use soap at all.

My canines have been eating from the rest room for 10+ years and that i've got not had any of them actually substitute into "unwell" from eating the water. of direction we've never used any chemical components like bleach in our bogs the two. We additionally supply them with a super bucket of water exterior besides, so it is not like this is there purely form of water the two. i think of it fairly is merely simply by fact it fairly is a greater handy place to get water. the two way, in case you do not want her to drink from the rest room, positioned the seat down or close the door.

Normal. Cats love fresh water. Both of mine will jump up on the sinks and rub their noses on the spigot till I turn it on. Then they drink right from the faucet. They love it. They will even sit by the sink and "meow" at me when I go to the bathroom. They want me to turn on the water.

Yep, sounds perfectly normal to me. My cat, who has fresh water in his bowl all the time, opts to drink that water last of all. He will drink anything before he touches his water in his bowl, including my iced tea, the water in the shower after I'm done taking a shower, and anything else he can find that appeals to him. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

My cats do it, my dog did it. It's perfectly normal, although a little weird. Then they droozle all over the floor. That's why I keep the lid down. They haven't figured how to get around that yet!
