It beats me...Have I missed some news? What has happened?
I cannot fathom the anti-French thing that is perpetrated throughout the media and then replicated by the morons that read the red tops.
I've always been a bit of a Francophile, and whilst proud of being a UK citizen, I am equally proud of being European - with all of the history and culture that we have.
Incidentally, both Germany and tha Allies bombed France during WWII.

As an Englishman I have to disagree with the previous correspondent. France is a wonderful country, full of charming people. I am so glad I can escape there away from the narrow minded little Englanders and their petty obsessions with how great Britain used to be.
Vive la France, me old matey!

Well, I don't know about "in the name of god" but as an englishman, I should point out that many of us have not forgiven them for the invasion by William the Tyrant in 1066.
I know many people, myself included, who refuse to buy anything made in France and will not go there for a holiday or for work.
As far as I'm concerned, the monarch of England should still be Queen of Anjou and Normandy and we should still have our port of Calais.
