Do they not realize that climate change is a naturally occuring phenomenon? Now after all those times of climate changing over and over again, all of a sudden they know how to stop climate change and all we have to do is to shovel billions of $$$ to other countries? This stuff sounds like a wealth redistribiution scam to me.

What do we really know about climate change anyway?

It's much better to work to limit pollution than to go try to stop something that cannot be stopped in the first place.

That's right, climate change cannot be stopped, it can only be slowed down but unfortunately this very argument is being given by the supporters of fossil fuels.

The climate is an up- and down going thing. The fact is we are now at the top of the natural trend of the greenhouse effect and normally things should go down from about here again. But now humans come in and make it go out of the top level of the trend and all signs are it will keep rising for at least decades, even if we would stop any human interference in the climate for 100% of now. If we don't stop this, no one knows where it will end, but it's not gonna be like the nice and moderate climates we have had over the past centuries or even millennia.

From reading news yesterday, our CO2 levels are off the chart at least for the last 800K years. Also the last CO2 change that was even close took 1000 years vs our 17. This is why it's a crisis. It is unknown now these levels of CO2 will be handled by the environment. Climate does change but we've 'added something unique' - panic panic panic.

They think they know how to stop the changes because they know the major systems of CO2 processing in the environment. They would need to enhance those processing capabilities.

We know as much about climate change as can be seen in Antartic Ice and ancient marine life oriented to ancient N.

I think it is scammy too. We are adaptable. Who says that climate change is a bad thing? Funny too - I was reading some conspiracy stuff - one of the theories is that Canada, US and Mexico is to be turned into one country. Gosh - the only way I see that happening is a flash ice age situation where Canadians and Americans are beating on the door of Mexico like in movie "Day After"

Simple, they don't claim that.

Scientists agree (those that don't are a small fringe group) that man made climate change is causing very rapid (by natural climate change standards) warming. That could cause coastal areas to flood and seriously affect agriculture. Rich nations would have to spend huge sums of money to cope, poor nations would have large numbers of starving people.

The scientists are not stupid. They know climate change has natural causes, also. They consider those. Even so, they know that right now man is causing a specific unnatural climate change which will cost less to prevent (although it will cost a lot) than it will to fix.

much the same as people who are driving down the road at 100 mph headed for a brick wall think that getting onto the brakes and off the gas might stop them from hitting the wall if they start soon enough.
the human race as a whole knows more about climate change than you seem to.
