No, it will take on a truer form of Islam. Islam said that women and men are equal, and women are encouraged to work, get educated and take control of their own finances. How women are treated in many Muslim societies is not Islamic, it's just their sad fu*ked up traditions. when all Muslim women finally assert themsleves the religion will flourish and be what God intended it to be.

??? No offense but what do you mean when Muslim women assert themselves. Muslim women who practice what is in the Quran and follow the true light of Islam do not complain or become asserted. I know many Muslim women who once had doubts about "Women Rights" in Islam but when they practiced the religion rightfully, they had no problems and finally found it as equal and rightful as what every Woman wants. Islam will still be growing and growing.

With all due respect, why do you post such a question? I mean if you know it would start fights and violence. Why???

Islam has already collapsed from within. How else would you explain the internecine warfare between Sunni and Shiite?

Islam needs to separate what parts of the religion liberate people and what parts do not.

Among the things that do not liberate are:
1. Its suppression of women
2. Its murder of non-believers.
3. Its support of despotic, authoritarian regimes.
4. Its lack of understanding of why you need to separate religion from governments and support democracy.
5. Its ignorance of science. It attempts to replace science with religion, like all fundamentalists try to do.
6. Its domination of education such that education is nothing more than memorizing the Koran. That is not education.
7. Its xenophobic attitudes to anything beyond its city limits.
8. Its mindless intolerance of other religions and atheism.
9. Its confusion that it has the right to impose Islam values on others.

The list is long but this will give Muslims enough to work on for the next 50 years. Changing for the better will be a generational change and we should not waste our time on the older generations who are too ignorant and impotent to change.

I suspect a process that contains elements of both will occur. It would probably require a radical reinterpretation of Islam. As things stand Muslim women may well be the cavalry that we all need to ride into the fray and defuse the extremism. However, there is the old adage that "the female of the species is deadlier than the male" so it may infact get worse.

Women seem to have the knack of staying in the background, continuing to appear innocent and yet being fully supportive, even proactive, in getting men to do violence on thier behalf.

How many female terroists does it take to plant a bomb?
None, a real woman would get a real man to do it for her.

Assert themselves? Maybe you should try clarifying what you actually mean.

There are a great number of muslim women that have done great things for the muslims, the greatest scholar of Islam was a woman.

I think you need to study more.

Oppression of women has nothing to do with Islam, and that would be obvious to you if you had ever read the Quran, or of you had ever looked at world history. Islam actually gives more rights to women than to men, and awards women, in particular mothers, a status very similar to that of the prophets.

If people followed Islam correctly, society would grow up.

'The bookseller of Kabul' was actually slated in that much of it was untrue. It seems that different muslim countries treat their women according to how they interpret the Koran. As in Christianity the majority of muslim families are decent people, they dont need to grow up, I find said comments a bit insulting to muslims. You may as well say that when Christian women get back in the kitchen we may have some family life again!

Muslim women are always quiet. They actually control the men telepathically turning them into childish psychos. The day they assert themselves vocally the psychic link is lost and they will all realise their historic attrocities and collapse from within...
