I'm a Muslim too and that is exactly how I feel, the Pope is not the first who talked bad about Islam and certainly won't be the last, the problem is that Muslims over react by threatening and burning, and this will never improve our image, they show the bad side of us rather than the good side, I'm not against protest but not that way, they are making people hate us more and more, if we did it in a civilized manner people would have understood more.
But that is the way it goes all the time and this is wrong.

Well you are one of a few Muslims with sensibility. Perhaps people need to hear from more people like you. Why then are you not upset with what these extremists are doing and how THEY are ruining the image of Muslims? It's not the Pope, it's not Christianity. It's Muslims ruining it for Muslims. Do you understand what I'm saying?
You can never expect anyone, anywhere to see the Muslim culture and religion to be a peaceful one, where at any time it is attacked or criticized people go madly insane and reap destruction everywhere, blow something up and shout dispicable, threatening things to the world!
Churches were attacked and burnt down that weren't even Catholic in the West Bank following what the Pope said. He has apologized. Will it stop? Probably not. Because there must be some truth in what that 14th century person said because look at the reaction from not just one region but everywhere in the Muslim world! It's insane!! Civilized people do not react with such violence and hatred. You want tolerance but yet you have no real tolerance. You just want to terrorize with your faith.
Do you see Christians running and burning down buildings and forming mass suicide groups in response to the criticism it takes from atheists and others? No. Because elsewere people are civilized and sensible and have respect for human life.
In a culture where human life matters not, you can't expect to have respect from the rest of the world. Because it's totally insane and you are alienating the rest of the world because who gives a damn about any culture or god who condones murder and all this madness.
Prove that this isn't so by rallying against these people within your faith who are extremists and stopping them. Put an end to all the crap in the middle east and live in peace. It's a big, big world and there is plenty of room for everyone in it.
Most people in the west and elsewhere in the world couldn't care less what the Muslim community thinks or believes in. They just want this bullshit of suicide bombing to stop and we don't need your religion shoved down anybody's throat, just the way Christians shouldn't shove their religion down anybody else's. Live and let live. As I said it's a big world.

No, I'm with you sister. Really who cares. What bothers me most was the over reaction from a lot of Muslims (like in Pakistan, India and across the Middle East) who are just acting out a passe and then get angry when people think badly of them, well what do they expect, so childish! If they didn't like it when people drew bad pictures of our prophet (which again sparked another over reaction), then they shouldn't be burning effigies of someone elses religious icon. I mean, yes i was cranky because it wasn't true, especially coming from the source he used, another Pope! ofcourse this would be his opinion, especially in a time when the church was committing evils of their own. but the quote was also taken out of context and the Muslims who got rallied up didn't even bother to check. they just heard something and over reacted. I mean doesn't God tell us that he gave us eyes and ears and not to believe any information and form an opinion on it until you yourself have investigated it and reasoned it? But really the Pope could not have picked a worser time to say this when we are trying to bridge gaps in the world for peace. it's hard to see what good he was trying to achieve in his actions.

Seems like a saner attitude than those mobs who burn down churches.
You can expect more criticism of Islam as a religion as more people become aware of some of the silliness that is advocated by Muslims. Justifying the suppression of women by religious law is certainly an area that will attract more attention and criticism in the future. Islamic fundamentalism that attempts to combine governments and religion will continue to be criticised. Islamic fundamentalism that attempts to justify the killing of innocents in the name of God will continue to be cricised. The attempt to replace science with beliefs by any religion will continue to be criticised.
Muslims need to start analyzing what is in their religion that liberates humanity and what is just the primitive cultural limitations that lock them into authoritarianism, brutality, abuse of women, and prevents them from understanding the benefits and concepts of human rights, democracy, and freedom, including the freedom FROM religion. Muslim treatment of non-believers is nothing but pure savagery.
So, Muslims, you need to understand that never again will you be so isolated that you will never hear criticism of the Muslim religion. Islam has some improvements to make, it is far from being perfect. And Muslims will be liberated by that criticism. Whether they like it or not is of no importance.

First you can't say let god deal with it….next he is more important than any other country leader he is, for christen like Christ on earth…so clearly he is the head of the catholic Christian…and when he say any thing, he is not talking about him self only …actually his talking as representative of his church…so it dose make a problem if those guys think about Islam this way, and they think about our prophet that way…so it's not ok…and what hurt the most, he still don't want to apologize personally…

Good for you!
Perhaps if more Muslims like yourself begin to realise what you have just said than in fact people will stop this whole theology about Muslims being terrorists etc.
I have just answered a question entitled: "Muslims are becoming outcasts in this world, Why?" I criticised him quite heavily, but the reason is really because there are not enough people like you!

I wish the media put the spotlight on people like you instead of the pope, bin laden and pat roberts. I think most christians, muslims, buddhists and atheists would get along just fine if it wasn't for these zealots.
