I know i have a soundcard on my computer but i have no idea where the software CD is for it. So i need to somehow detect what soundcard i have and then look for free downloadable software for it on the internet.

One way of doing this would be to download a computer analysis program such as SiSoft Sandra Lite. It checks all your hardware to see if it's working properly and tells you what it is.
Alternatively, you may be able to do it by right clicking on My Computer, Properties, Hardware,Device Manager.

programs running not running and a handy little gadget called secrets .
Never have a forgotten password again . Dont tell anyone lol

You can either download a program such as SiSoft SANDRA or EVEREST which will identify your soundcard, and then download drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Tke the sound card out and look for any markings or version numbers before you search, if its built in then go to the mother board site and download the drivers from there
