Hipocracy - The overwhelming number of people who said or preached one thing, then turned around to do another. I encountered a few honest, good people who were in the Christian churches I attended, and I still have the greatest respect for a couple of these preachers and others in the church. But after riding through scandals as more than one preacher in a church I was attending admitted to committing adultery, hearing people in the church condemn the "drinkers" they had seen in the bar on Friday night, etc., I decided I didn't want to be associated with the majority of those I had seen in the religion.

The single thing that really pushed me over the top was 'speaking in tongues.' Even as a kid, this seemed like 'The Emperor's New Clothes.' "Everybody else can do this; I don't want people to think that God doesn't favor me, so I'll just make some noises and everybody will think that I can do it, too." I knew that what was happening wasn't Biblical, but I didn't know why.

Now, I preach just what the Bible says, no more and no less.

I left Catholicism because I do not agree with the concepts or practices as I evolved into an adult such as birth control and confession...People screw religion up. I mean at the end of the day, Did God himself say birth control was wrong or that you had to confess your sins to another HUMAN BEING in order to walk with Him? I simply cannot digest man's interpretation as gospel...as Elvis is quoted as saying when asked why he wore every religious medallion on his neck..."I don't know man, I just don't want to miss Heaven on a technicality!"

I agree that Christianity has confused itself from ages - A true Religion of God should not be confused as written in the Bible...

"For God is NOT the author of confusion . ." I CORINTHIANS 14:33..

One thing is for sure that God is there and he has put a straight path for you... Have you put your efforts to find that true path... You should shun down your prejudices and look afresh once again... I am sure you would find the way... check the Faiths who claim to be on the right path and ask One Almihty God to Help you... I am sure you will find it... I will pray for you too....

The grace of God. It took the form of: the futility of the idea that anything we or I can DO, ACCOMPLISH, PERFORM or take credit for, would obtain favor for me in the eyes of a holy and just Creator God. Faithful church attendance, giving money to charitable causes, infant baptism, going through confirmation classes, being a "good citizen," etc. It's all just a palliative for the conscience except for the grace of God. Yup. His sacrifice on the cross for my sin was all I needed; I don't take credit for anything on my own in addition to that. "For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, lest any man should boast."

I Never could grasp the concept that an ALL loving God could place one of his children in the burning pits of hell! Unconditional love, forgiving, kind, just....couldn't buy into the scarey stuff..who wants to believe their own creator who is love could be capable of such? There is good in all if we look for it!
