Dont go anywhere!! Just start speaking in English to your friends and whenever possible. Read the english news papare loudly everyday, watch BBC whenever possible and try to learn the accents( americal accents are different!!).Talk to yourself in front of the mirror in english and watch the movements of your mouth, tongue, eyes etc. Do it fastidiously and you will get a command over the language.

IMPROVE YOUR ENGLISH LEARNING SKILLS .

Learning is a skill and it can be improved.

Your path to learning effectively is through knowing

yourself
your capacity to learn
processes you have successfully used in the past
your interest, and knowledge of what you wish to learn

Motivate yourself

If you are not motivated to learn English you will become frustrated and give up. Ask yourself the following questions, and be honest:-

Why do you need to learn/improve English?
Where will you need to use English?
What skills do you need to learn/improve? (Reading/Writing/Listening/Speaking)
How soon do you need to see results?
How much time can you afford to devote to learning English.
How much money can you afford to devote to learning English.
Do you have a plan or learning strategy?
Set yourself achievable goals

You know how much time you can dedicate to learning English, but a short time each day will produce better, longer-term results than a full day on the weekend and then nothing for two weeks.

Joining a short intensive course could produce better results than joining a course that takes place once a week for six months.

Here are some goals you could set yourself:-

Join an English course (and attend regularly).

Do your homework.

Read a book a month.

Learn a new word every day.

Visit an English speaking forum every day.

Read a news article on the net every day.

Do 10 minutes listening practice every day.

Watch an English film at least once a month.

Follow a soap, comedy or radio or TV drama.

A good way to meet your goals is to establish a system of rewards and punishments

Yes Brother,
You need to Know both Hindi And English for better communication, it helps but is not the only thing most important is your grasp of your own subjects. PEC is a great college so don't worry too much, I bet you have friends who have slightly better spoken Engish and also those who have simmilar problem- so decide that you shall speak for an hour in English (goood or bad and don't mind any jokers who try to discourage you) and have friends with slightly better grasp correct you . that apart study your own books they all are in English observe how thing are written and try to speak loudly in the same manner

Once I was a student of College in Punjab and in similar situation. I was advised to 'think' not in Punjabi but in English. That made me fluent in English

It's better to know someone who you can correspond with. Like a pen pal or something. They would be able to help you with your english. I have the same problem, I'm trying to work on my hindi, and it seems like it's going to be a very long process for me, but I correspond with my family in Fiji once every week over the phone, and it helps a lot. I'm getting better everyday, I still have a long way to go.
