Why would you want to? Cook the macaroni in plenty of simmering salted water for the time stated on the packet. In the meantime melt 2 ounces of butter in a non-stick pan, add flour until the mixture comes away from the side of the pan, gradually stir in about half a pint of luke warm milk, when the mixture begins to thicken add grated cheese - Cheddar is good. Strain the macaroni, put it in an oven proof dish, pour the sauce over it, scatter some more grated cheese over the top and bung it under the grill till it's bubbling, and turning brown. You could put a few slices of tomato on top before you add the final cheese layer.
