Why is it alright if the guy is older but not the gal? What goes for the goose should go for the gander too.

"Does age matter when two people love each other?"
Only if it matters to them.
"Why is it alright if the guys is older but not the gal?"
It isn't. That is to say, such is not the case, and you are 100% correct and what goes for the goose goes for the gander... almost literally, in this case.

I have to side with the consensus here...

Indeed, love is blind; age is just a number; it's nobody else's business, etc., etc., etc. These are all absolutely true.

However, one most look at more practical elements of a potential lifelong relationship than just genuine "love." This is where the particular age disparity in your relationship is critical...

For instance, if we're talking 10 years then I wouldn't even see a need for posting this question unless she's 45 and on the verge of being unable to procreate and he's 35 and very much desiring children. Even then, there are other alternatives such as surrogates, adoption, etc.

Also, look at life expectancy & health. If you're 32 and he's 57, the unfortunate reality is that you could be pushing around a crippled grandpa at the young age of 45-- then being widowed at 50! Not fun.

Finally, take into account financial status and consider that one of you may be retiring long before the other and possibly be unable to provide adequate income...

So, the age gap of which you speak is really only relevant if it is so extreme-- and that is a subjective term... that's for YOU to decide.

Aside from all of that, if you're both happy and healthy I say follow your intuition. It's not as if you can merely flick a switch and turn love off like a light bulb.

It doesn't matter who is older; people get in both situations, with either gender older. Usually, though, there is a reason for having the man a few years older, because men are about two years less mature than women at the same age.

Generally women tend to mature sooner than men so a younger woman could be a perfect match for an older man. Also from a sexual perspective, a man is able to reproduce his entire life whereas a woman has a limited time before her ability ends.

If a younger man has an older woman, she will end up looking like his mother by the time they get old.

There was a news that a 70 year old person marries 18 year old girl,in such cases how one can agree that there is no bar of age.Do anybody think that girl will be able to enjoy her sex life with that old man.if there is very less difference and both love each other then I do not think there is any bar with respect to age.Girl may also be of more age in the mutual relationship. The choice depends on individual person.

Age only matters to other people not to the ones that love each other. You know the world wood be a great place if people would just mind there own business.

I have dated guys younger and older than me. I have dated a guy 6 yrs younger and am currently with one that is 7 yrs older. It realy depends on how you feel and what your looking for. Keep in mind females mature sooner than guys so its natural to seek out someone who is on the same maturity level as yourself. However. The heart is something else. As long as its legal (no adult should date a child under any circumstance) follow your heart. Just have some fun..

It's one of the many classic double-standards of our society.

But, I can say that since a woman reaches her sexual prime much later in life than a man, it doesn't make much sense for younger men to avoid older women.

I think if they are both adults, any age difference between them is OK as long as they are OK with it, although I can say the closer they are in age the more they will have in common and that helps in building a relationship.

Age does not matter if one is following the same aims and interests in life and is aware that in years to come the age difference might become more "visible" in a way that one person wants to do something the other person can´t do anymore.

She is 14 and underage. She isn't legal to consent to a courting. After she turns 18 or what your regulations state then you ought to date one yet another. the reason at the back of the regulation is with the help of the fact a 14 year previous remains starting to be up mentally. they're changing their ideas each and every 5 minutes. they're starting to be adults and dealing with puberty. i'm sorry, and that i understand the way a 19 year previous and 14 year previous ought to be appropriate mutually. you should envision the regulations on your state nevertheless. you should be in penitentiary.
