Pope ought to study Islam at the Vatican's own Institute of Oriental and Islamic studies, authorised to grant Master's and Doctorate's degrees. His statements shall be contradicted by the storehouse of wisdom in his own libraries. Needless to add that I have met, for long hours, Cardinal Rossano, and Cardinal Francis Arinze. Privately, they would be criticising Pope on his illogical wisdom, and choice of quotations from soldiers not from scholars of Islam. For sober readers and serious students of Islam, I suggest reading an esteemed Journal issued by a Christian Seminary for 96 years now. It is " Muslim World Quarterly". They know what Islam truly is. None of their articles has ever been objected to by the Muslim intelligentia. Find it out on Google. Also to read are books by Western mystics like: Martin Lings, Rene Guenon, Frithjof Schuon .. Muslims shall only react to weak sources even if quoted by a Pope. For them, he is not infallible. On their part, have you ever observed a Muslim disparaging any sacred person of any religion? They are 'brainwashed' to respect the 'others' whom 'they' worship/venerate. Why should theirs be disrespected. Any Logic there?

Im a muslim, and its not offensive that all people dont have a good image of us, but its that we are being judged poorly, based on terrorism etc. alot of people in the world fear muslims and islam and now link it to satan and other negative things. That's why it's emotional for us.

I think instead of blaming Islam/Muslims you should first blame people who open their mouth without any knowledge. Would you be ok if i spread wrong information about your loved once without even knowling them? If you say No, then how come you expect Muslims to quite when people openly lie about Islam without any source of what they are talking. Who do you think is brainwashed Muslims or people who talk follishly without first investigating?
Check your facts first.

I'm guessing you mean Pope.
But to be fair, Christians react in much the same way... it's just that in the western world there are social mores in place to curb in their response, mores that are largely absent in the Muslim world.

That's their way of trying to censor people. They can't handle the truth so they try to eliminate anyone who speaks it
