i work in a country around 6500kms away from my wife.At times I have the urge to have sex but so far I have restrained myself.What should a person in my situation do?

Stay faithful to your wife. Sex is a temporary fulfillment, but if you choose to compromise the integrity of the (trust, relationship) between you and your wife, the emotional and sometime physical consequences are long lasting. Some consequences for you to consider:
1. Divorce.
2. Assuming you have children, a divided family, only seeing your children according to court orders.
3. Asset division that does not work out in your favor.
4. Breaking a vow, promise, and sacrament to not only your wife, family, and friends, but to God too.
5. Crippling your wife...the pain of infidelity is indescribable Roshan.
Why not come up with a plan to see her more often, both you returning home or she visiting you more frequently? You could also try to have some fun on the phone if you know what I mean.
I guess you need to really ask yourself if an orgasm today is truly worth the risks involved? Are you capable of loving (and honoring, respecting, treasuring) your wife right now, while you have needs that are unmet? This is a marriage ~ someone always leaves the dinner table hungry.

I've heard this one before so you're not the only man in this situation. When you decide to work abroad it's usually for the wellbeing of your family ie wife/ kids. One would hope that all the positives like more money have been thought through, so surely the downside should have been given as much careful thought. You are now experiencing the downside of living/working abroad. I say to you what I said to another man who wanted to cheat on his wife. Remember why you married in the first place and what your promises were. I really think you need to talk to her and try and resolve this matter. Money is one thing and necessary to live, but what is life without your family and love, seeing kids grow up etc. Either you get another job nearer or you move her out to where you are, that's if you want your marriage to continue. You must have had the wellbeing of it being bettered, in mind, when you decided to move away to earn money for the family. Why chance destroying the very thing you left home to try and improve. You have some serious thinking to do here.

However bad it gets for you don't cheat! It's not worth it and if you start it'll be easier the next time and the time after that and so on. Call your wife when the urges hit you and talk to her. That's where your desire should go. Imagine if the shoe was on the other foot too. Would you want your wife messing with another man?

just do what you are used to doing, and for heaven sake don't tell the wife anything except you were flogging it yourself.
many women can survive a long time without sex, it's not so easy for a man.

get a job closer to home! If you really love your wife and want to stay married to her - if you dont want to get a different job closer to home then I would question your commitment to your marriage and say you are probably better off considering separation. then the fields are your's to roam. anyhoo - she is probably feeling the same way!!
