The inverted Latin cross is a Cross of St. Peter.

The origin of this symbol comes from belief that St. Peter was crucified upside down, as he felt he was unworthy to be crucified in the same manner that Christ died (upright).

Popes have used this symbol for the office of Saint Peter for over one thousand years.

With love in Christ.

Because Saint Peter was nailed to the cross upside down. And so that's became kinda his symbol. And he was the first Pope so I guess it's became a symbol of the 'pope chair'

The upside down cross represents Peter, who was crucified on an upside down cross. Peter did not want to be crucified like Christ because he felt he was unworthy, so he asked to be upside down.
Peter was founder of the Catholic Church..
