How can I make sure it will go smoothly and he will ask me back for the second date?. He has a young son, I am worried what his son will think of us going out. How can I make sure it will go smoothly?

A dress would be nice. Not too revealing, but enough to show your curves a bit. His son will be jealous and cautious at any age. Just make eye contact, greet him. Include him in conversations. That will go a long way to impress both son and dad. Other than that, be yourself. If you are nervous, let your date know. Don't pretend to be otherwise.
If you try to be someone other than the true you, they will probably sense it. Or it will come out later.
Just be you. Enjoy the date, not the destination.
And, by the way, sometimes the chemistry is just not there. Try not to take it personal.

Seems to be the season of pretty, flowing dresses (florals, spotteds), low cut and shoulders showing. Great shoes.
Worry about the son's reaction after the date, may not be anything to be concerned about at all.
If Hot Dad likes you the son will pick up on that.
Enjoy the date, be relaxed and interested but not intense.

the secret weapon.....jeans.
you can dress them either up or down, with just putting on or taking off a jacket. but you have to choose the flattering for shoes, because you know that is what will tie it all in.
Another thing is that, you wanna dress like yourself, to let him know that you will be there for a while and he will get to see all the outfits: dressy, messy, nighties, all that stuff.
Not giving him your best fit on the first date, because that is saying "this is the last time you are gonna see me, so i gotta look good" try putting on something similar to what you had on when you got his attention the first time

Wear a nice top with a pair of bootcut jeans with some boots. U will look nice but overly nice and look like u r tryin to b 2 obvious
