WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?You are making up such stories/scenarios on a regular basis as pretexts for stirring up ****
Illegal immigrants often take under-the-table jobs,of course. Now seriously you are too smart not to figure it out
Employers hire the undocumented because they can pay them less, because they can't organize,"unionize", because they can get rid of them any time.
Immigrants ain't draggin'down wages, there seem to be no wage differences between cities that have lots of low-skilled immigrants and the cities that have very few immigrants;and if you wanna blame anyone for the whole mess, blame the stupid tax policies ,the trade policy.Don't you think the conservatives are trying to justify their opposition to the minimum wage raising thing?

In Louisiana a few years ago a few workers had to hospitalized to check for TB. (In Louisiana illegals automatically get medicaid, the american taxpayer does not!) Americans coughs up money or goes to a charity hospital. Illegals are not scanned for diseases, take jobs, gets free medical, gets paid cash then apply for free food stamps and does not report earnings to the IRS. An american does that...he goes to jail. Mexicans do that and Hollywood, the media cry out you can't put poor people in jail.
California is finding out fast about ignoring the problem. First they wanted to come to America now, there are parades with mexican flags saying this is our land anyway. Me and your fore fathers were totally comitted to make it in america and not return to the old country. Illegals want the american way of life, not to be americans. Want to see a big exodus to mexico? Let the United States economy crash, and all the freebies are gone. All of sudden these people will no longer want to be here with you. And you will wonder... why did you even feel sorry for them. Why did the U.S. overlook laws being broken when, it is these same laws that stabalize this country.
But, then isn't that Congress for you. They don't mind giving away your childrens future, their kids are protected by golden government parachutes.

The problem with a lot of the answers is that the illegal doesn't make minimum wage they will work for far below that so that causes all wages to become depressed.Who do you think picked the peaches before the influx of illegals? And yes we do belong in our own country,Ive never read such uninformed answers. The fact that someone gets paid cash and so does not pay income taxes is a real problem.Because the illegal uses the infrastructure of this country without paying anything towards it.The schools, hospitals, prisons,
public assistance and other things paid for
with and by income taxes.sales taxes are
not income taxes.
The illegal costs this country far more than they contribute, and the ignorance of the uninformed amazes me.I live in Arizona come live here for a few days and you will see the damage done to a great city and state by the illegal invasion.
The mass importation of low-skilled workers through illegal immigration damages the job market for Americans, depresses wages for low-skilled natives, and costs the taxpayer billions a year-all for the benefit of businesses that have become dependent on cheap, foreign labor. An illegal system that admits too many people, without regard to their skill levels or impact on the labor force, is to blame.

i think it is very common practice for the illegals to be working under the table...i also feel that if there were not illegals to be doing some of these jobs, employers would have to pay more to get employees. Illegals clearly bring down the wages here in the u.s. which benefits them, because no American is going to work for a low paying wage. Pay a decent wage for "the jobs that Americans dont want to do" and you will find an American who is willing to do that job!

It's just not Mexicans, so they shouldn't be singled out for statement purposes only. Who is doing this paying under the table in American society & why is that happening? That is driving the need for labor & people are just filling an economic need. Doesn't matter where their place of origin is, whether that be Mexico, Russia or New York City our economy is driving the need for this labor. Maybe we should focus on developing humane policies that allow our famers etc. to get the labor that they need & perhaps this will take the focus off of identifying this human labor by the "place of origin".

Here is an excerpt from an editorial I read. Sums it up well I think.
An illegal immigrant woman breaks into a house. She starts to clean, sweep, make the beds and cook dinner. The owner comes home and says to her, "Get out of my house or I'll call the police." The immigrant says "but I cleaned your house, prepared your food and everything here is so much better than the way I found it. I'm staying. You owe me wages, insurance and a place to live." The immigrant calls her husband. He mows the grass, weeds the flower beds and begins to put in a garden. The immigrant woman says "Okay, now my husband has taken care of the outside of your home. He has mowed, weeded and put in a garden for the food for your table. You owe him also these things plus a voter's registration card and by the way learn our language." The immigrant couple wait for the authorities but they never come.
hmmm...

There are a lot of people working under the table, not just Mexicans. Many parents will do this in order not to pay childsupport. I feel they are hurting the economy, a lot of people are by other means of taking from our government, but hopefully they will pay in the end. They surely won't be able to collect Social Security when their older since they have no work record with credits paid in. I wonder if they even think about that when they try to deceive the government.

I have been reading over and over lately examples such as illegals explaining to police that the reason they are driving without a license is that they have no papers.
It kind of makes one think that for all the well publicized raids, the average person on the street doesn't have much concern about enforcement, doesn't it?

When my parents first came to america they used to work under the table. They were only making like $30 a day, and somehow they managed to provide food and clothes. That was over 30 years ago, they busted their *** to provide for their family, all they wanted was a better life like so many immagrants today. If it wasnt for them I would not be where I am today.
