JC left no written documents behind. All you have are stories that were written about 50-60 years after his death, which doesn't take into account the faulty memories of much older, feeble men. Through the centuries, words have lost original meanings, and have been corrupted by personal agendas of those translating, and there is the problem of translating from ancient languages to modern languages and translating to the many new languages we have today. Did you know, for example, that there are words that cannot be properly translated (like the English word, "swing" to Spanish). There is also the issue of those that refuse to take into account the historical factors and social mores of the times and judge the past with our present day mores and customs and laws and conventions.

What do YOU think? Remember, that the books that now comprise the Bible were agreed upon by a committee of men that had to compromise their own personal beliefs and agendas to confirm to what all could agree with from around 315 to about 325 BC. Many writings, books or letters were omitted because they did not fit in with the schemes and personal agenda or needs of a few men (some even hated women and they made sure that women did not play a role in the church affairs).

Remember, JC never personally intended to have a new religion founded in his name; he would have been appalled! He was born a Jew, lived the life of a Jew and died a Jew when he was crucified as a political enemy of Rome (he was NOT stoned to death, which was the death penalty of the Jews back then). JC did not leave behind any writings, much like Socrates.

It is rather sweeping to say that. Who are Christian Fundamentalists? Surely they don't all agree? Where is the evidence that they quote Paul, Revelations and the Old Testament, rather than Jesus? How did you come to these conclusions? Is it from experience you speak? Any stats or surveys? Why focus on those people? They believe the Bible don't they? The Bible is inclusive of all the above. Maybe they are ignorant of the words of Jesus. Good point actually.

What is a Christian fundamentalist?
You must not be around many because most true believers quote Jesus often
Besides, Paul and Revelation are quoting Jesus so if you
quote Paul and Revelation you quote Jesus.
Jesus is God, the Old Testament is from God, if you quote the Old Testament you are quoting God, you are quoting Jesus.

Well if you read the Apostles Creed, the creed that's recited every Sunday at churches and is used to define what being Christian means; You will see it's all about believing in the attributes "about" Jesus, without emphasis in following the "teachings" of Jesus.

That's why a whole lot of Paul, and a whole lot of the hyberbolic book of John is often quoted as basis for Christianity.

Because the bible was written up 325 years after Christ, and was in the meantime edited some 1000 times, in order to make its contents in-objectionable to those in power. What is left, is not what Jesus taught, but what made the masses subservient and fearful of authority. Jesus was a "rebel" who died for his beliefs, "...turn the other cheek" are words that others put into his mouth. Because Jesus´ teachings do not fit in their wrong "Faith alone" and "Bible alone" doctrines and they don´t understand what Paul really was saying. As Peter warned us in 2 Pet. 3:15-16 - "Paul teaching is hard to understand ... and it is distorted by some..to their own destruction just as they do the other scriptures"
They give their own interpretation (wrong) of Paul, thereby going against the Bible, which they claim as their only authority: 2 Pet. 1:20 - "there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation"

Jesus didn't provide as much ammunition for them to spread their prejudices with as Paul and the Old Testament did.

Your assumption is erroneous. in assessment to liberals who in basic terms pay lip provider to the bible, maximum conservative quote the two the previous and new testomony and actual attempt to stay it. Secondly, you at the instant are not finding on the religious meaning at the back of a lot of his parables and sayings. it extremely is you liberals who're captivated with how a lot money human beings have. isn't envy a risky sin? Seconly, the obsession with wealth is what makes it puzzling. while you're in basic terms centred on acquiring wealth, you've got a stressful time entering into heaven. maximum self made conservative successes are a lot extra beneficiant than liberal ones. Conservatives do sturdy issues with their very own money, liberals attempt to do sturdy issues with different peoples money.

Because what's available now is only a collection of some people diaries and personal thoughts. If it were God's revelations, it would quote God.
