I had ths problem with my Bichon pup.
Make sure the areas where the dog has previously messed are cleaned up straight away. If they are not, then they will be able to smell their scent on that area, and will keep going back to it.
If the dog messes indoors, immediately tap the dog on the nose and firmly say no, then take the dog to the place you want them to wee or poo, so they can make the association with going to the toilet and the place you want them to do it.
You can also get special pads/mats which attract the dog to them when they need the toilet. Place one of these near the back door, for example, and the dog will learn to go to that place when they need the toilet. When you fully remove the pad, they will begin to cry at the door when they need the toilet. NEVER ignore this request. If you do, all of your hard work is lost.
It also helps to get your dog into a routine. When you wake up, take the dog out, also after every meal and before bedtimes. When the dog has successfully gone to the toilet outside, praise him or her and give him or her a small treat. This is reinforcing the good behaviour.
When the dog starts erratically sniffing the ground, this normally means they are finding a suitable spot to go to the toilet. Immediately call them outside.
NEVER rub the dogs nose in the mess. This is cruel and a technique which never works. The dog will only resent you for being cruel to it.

The best way to train a dog is to be consistent. I have 2 dogs (shitsuz) and one of them was very hard to train and still has accidents, i have to take him out side every half an hour to hour. for a while i had him on diapers! this really works cause they will not go in the diaper and it helps them to have control. also, at night when it is time to sleep i tie my dog in side the house, as they will not go where they sleep. just don't let him have too much leash. and last there is a bottle of stuff u can buy t the pet store that u spray where they pee in the house and they will never pee there again. every time he goes in the house use a rolled up paper to tell him it is bad, you dont have to hit him with it just hit you hand with it, there is somthing about the sound they fear. good luck.

training a dog is quite an easy task provided u love it very much.. when u understand what and when it feels its not at all difficult to teach it anything.... anything at all.. even to call the police or ambulance when necessary...its a fact that dogs bark in a peculiar manner when they wanna go for the loo.. and u have to ideentify it.. and take it out at that instant.. when u repeat it several times.. the ***** will learn to tell u when it wants to go out... or the word u cud use is "NO" loudly by which the ***** can realise that it is doing something wrong... its easy dear ! get going..

It sounds cruel, but be firm and don't cave to "the eyes". It's important to catch them in the act. Rub their nose in it and firmly and loudly say "NO, BAD DOG, NO" Give him a good hard smack on the muzzle or bum, then immediately take them outside and make them stay out there for a few minutes. Every time you take them out to go potty and they do, always reinforce with a very enthusiastic loving, "Good boy, that's a good *****, very good." Then hugs and kisses are in order. Good luck. It also depends on the breed, how long it takes. Some are more stubborn.
