I found it quite frightening actually. The idea that these fanatical end-timers are responsible for all sorts of suffering and conflict is quite sickening.
Do you think the world would be a better place without religion? I think so; it puts up so many barriers.

Yes - I'm a believing Christian but I found this very scary indeed.

Fanatics of any religion or culture are greatly to be feared, especially when they are in positions of power.

And Africa....! Things out there are bad enough without people encouraging them to give up on education and on life, and simply sit there waiting for the rapture. Truly dreadful.

The show was sensational and scare-mongering, picking extreme groups and moderate groups and lumping them all together as End Time People. They are all disparate groups with differing views. Also he carefully picked things said out of context. Very entertaining but proof you can't believe all you see on TV. Sure there are a lot of wacky people around all over the world, but this conspiracy to fulfil prophecy by their own efforts is in the imagination of the producers and presenter Tony Robinson. It would have been better if he did some factual research and laid aside his speculations. As for you and me we need to have better sources of information than a 2 hour documentary. I shudder to think of the effects of this documentary as it already has done for you. Will they blame these people and execute them since they are out of synch with the rest of civilisation? Would killing them off be the answer? And how do you propose to rid the world of religion? More executions and bloodshed? Communist regime style indoctrination? People will believe whatever they want to believe and should be allowed the freedom to do so, as long as they don't harm others. It is interesting to note that in his thirst for acceptance the presenter who is probably a secular Jew has spoken in a derogatory way towards his Jewish brothers who are religious. Also the producer has a muslim name. What reaction would they have got if it was a documentary making any offensive suggestions about Islam? Yet the Judeo-Christian religion is attacked so often as there is unlikely to be a severe backlash.

Religion is bad when people use it to justify the evil they do. But it's also a good thing because I can imagine before it existed people would kill each other for a biscuit without any remorse for what they had done.

Sometimes I wish there wasn't any religion so I could go out into the world killing everything in sight for whatever reason, it would make life alot easier if there wasn't any religion to judge me.

SCARY.....!...I already new the Yanks were religious, BUT please they seem Tobe turning into Half Baked religious freaks like the Muslims. And even more SCARY is they have fingers on the BIG RED buttons....!
People who are over zealous in religion are VERY BAD no matter what it is,moderation is the key to life in every thing. I believe their is a place for religion in to days life to help keep morality in check.

The show highlighted just how completely wacko religion can make people. And some of these people are in power - truly frightening.

I am starting my own religion,It will be called the church of one.
the first rule within the church is that you keep your thoughts on religion to yourself, you can carry as many gods that you pray to along in your thoughts, just dont tell any one else.
the second rule is that every day you have to speak to two complete strangers even if its only to say goodmorning, how are you.
your god gave you two ears ,so you should listen twice as much as you speak.
