This is a serious answer - not a joke.
I have eaten many things that people would consider strange because that happens when you travel - including crickets, curried meal worms, etc.. Most of them have been great, yet unusual. These are not only the two strangest things I have eaten, but one of them was surprisingly one of the best things I have eaten my in life! The other was possibly the worst- I would take a curried meal worm shake (which nobody really makes!) over the second one any day of the week!
Absolutely fresh, still warm raw lamb liver - sliced extremely thin, in very small quantities on a pita with thinly sliced onions, salt, roasted cumin, pepper, lemon juice, and yogourt. It was delicious - exotic, flavourful, wonderful combination of textures, - and this is for breakfast! Talk about an energy high! I felt like I could walk for miles - which is what many people in the middle east do. A real testiment to a hearty breakfast that is head and shoulders above mini-wheats or oatmeal for fibre, flavour, and energy! I'm not sure I would go to my local butcher and do the same thing, though - there is no "shelf life" on a trek, and it is truly fresh.
The other one?
Absolutely fresh lamb testicles, (yes, the same lamb!) boiled and sliced, served on pita with yogourt and tomatoes. Although I appreciated the effort that the host went through, it tasted to me like iron dipped in lanolin.
I like to be adventerous when I travel, but that was, to me, the most awful thing I have tasted! Emotion had nothing to do with it - my palate was offended!

The closest I've come to eating anything "strange" is calamari, deer meat, and rabbit meat. The last two I was tricked into eating!

Donkey.
I'm usually pretty adventurous with food, but I only managed a few bites of this before I gave up. It kinda of tastes like really really strong beef, but with a kind of fishy thing going on too...Yucky!!!

I have had gator, snake, dog, eel, cow's tongue and lizard. The lizard was the toughest to take in that the flavor had a very strong taste.
