After you cook it, make sure to clean the pan and dishes and throw away any residue (in the garage, not the kitchen waste basket). Many oven fans have a charcoal filter that helps remove odors.
Otherwise, as long as the fish is fresh, I don't think the smell is bad. Don't worry about it.

BLEACH ! Bleach will get rid of the smell, and ground zero all bacteria.
Coffee, put some coffee grounds on a pan on the stove and cook, its very strong, and will over power just about anything, I learned that trick from a cop (body recovery in apts NYPD).

Take a cereal bowl and pour in some vinegar. Let it sit in the kitchen until the smell is gone.

Take a good number of cigars (the Cuban ones), may be four. Crumble them down and spread the crumbles in corners around the kitchen and adjacent areas (i.e. dining room)

Fill a couple of bowls of vinegar and leave them on your kitchen counter over night. The vinegar should absorb the odors.

The smelt can be detroyed by burning a candle beside dove or boiling vinegar beside dove and or cut few pieces lemon around dove but it take a longer time. Boiling tea on dove can be mixed up and minimize smelt.

Keep a lighted candle going while you are cooking and keep it lighted a few minutes after you're done.
Please make sure you keep the candle away from anything flammable and do keep an eye on it from time to time.
It works! ;) does not even have to be scented.
