The US media is only as "liberal" as the conservatives who own them.
General Electric bought NBC in the late 1980s; news articles critical of GE _ceased_. ABC/Disney took money to broadcast the fairy tale, "Path To 9/11". At the dictum of a Bush appointee, PBS has cancelled objective and unbiased news and documentary programs (eg. Bill Moyers, Wall Street Week in Review) and replaced them with blatantly right-wing propaganda.

First of all, PBS aires similiar things all the time. The networks won't air it because it isn't PROFITABLE to do so.
Secondly, that is not "liberal." Liberal is not defined in this country as "anything that pisses off the religious right." Many, if not most, people who vote democrat would also call themselves Christian. The "religious right" is a label applied to those who have very specific political views that derive from their religious views. However, not all Christians hold those religious or political views. This includes opinions about abortion, gay rights, capitol punishment, and even gun control. The media, in many cases, does tend to be liberal in that they seem to subtly promote the ideas of the Democratic party more than those of the Republican party.
Third, the guy is an idiot (I don't care where he teaches). He made many blanket statements at the beginning that were anything but intelligent. Calling faith "non thinking," and "there is no well demonstrated reason to believe in God" are examples of this man's ignorance. Most of the time American Television does attempt to show a little more intelligence and restraint in their beliefs than this.

I would say the media is moderate-left, and fox news is extreme right. There is a problem with our media system in America. This documentary by Richard Dawkins is one of the best I have seen. Some of his commentaries are not too astute, but overall it is well done.

First, I have to ask, how do you know it will never be shown on American television?
Second, if it were to not be shown, I do not think it would be the government necessarily. The persons to ask would be the owners of the television stations and the producers. I could not see most of it because it kept stopping, but the show looks interesting. Thank you for sharing.

Watched only the first 3 minutes and it looked like it would develop into a well balanced documentary taking in all angles. American TV is not interested in such an angle.
